my 01 rsv that i bought a month ago came with a short windshield, not usre how tall it is but probably the shortest one they make, too short for me i get a lot of head buffeting. but I don't want one so tall I can't see over it. do they make one 2 or 3 inches shorter than oem. any suggestions would be appreciated.

Installed my new F4 windshield today. It's the wide version, 2" inches taller than stock with vent. Really impressed with clarity, thickness, and lack of buffeting after install. It was nice not dealing with looking through the top edge of stock windshield.

I've found clearview and Cee Bailey, are there any other manufacturers out there. I cut mine down to where I could barely see through it and with the wind blockers on the lowers, it works fine. But it's summer now, the blockers have to come off. And with that the buffeting is terrible. Gonna have to get a taller windshield for summer, but I've only got a month to do it. (Vacation coming up)

Ive read the current threads on the subject but i am lost. I am 5' 10.5" tall. I cut my factory shield down to 17" above the bottom of the gas cap area. At that height i was looking above the shield which is what i want. However the buffeting was terrible. So I contacted ClearView and they were great about pre-sales support. I ordered the shortest version which is 19" above the same point. We thought that since their shield leans back Id still see over it. However it didnt work out that way. The bigger problem was the buffeting wasn't reduced enough for me. The recurve helped but not enough. Let me say, the ClearView folks are top notch. Although we couldn't get to a solution, they took great care of me. SO, here I am asking for advice. I want to look over the shield and I want as little buffeting as possible. If this sounds familiar and you've found a solution PLEASE share! and thx......

Windscreen is too high...Need a replacement I don't have to look through. Was also concerned about buffeting for my passenger. Any thoughts?

I was wondering if somebody had one and do you like it? Also, does the vent cut down passenger buffeting and does rain come through when it's closed? -
I switched out of my factory windshield that was cut down 4" for the 21" clearview with the vent and light tint. Much smoother ride! I read a post where someone had stated that the taller the windshield equaled less buffeting. It definitely cut the buffeting by 75% at 70mph. I can now ride at 75 mph (correct speedometer) and not have the buffeting as before. The main reason I cut my factor shield down 4" was I felt like I was either trying to look over or under it. With the 21" I have no problem looking thru it. I would definitely recomment the vent, it allows alittle bit of air to come thru to damper the vacumm effect. Not sure what it'll do to my fuel mileage, but so far I'm very pleased with their product and craftmanship.

I like to ride the interstate and for me about 65 mph is max on a windy day and 70 on a calm day without the discomfort of buffeting, etc. I've had the windshield lowered 4 inches. Is this about the same for everyone else or what have you guys found that works better to improve interstate riding. I've also went through three helmets till I found the most compatible with the buffeting. Secondly, am I asking to much from a non-fairing bike...My goal is to ride comfortably at 70. Should I go back to the tall windshield? I can't remember what it was like, just knew I hated looking through it. -
I've noticed some wind buffeting on my RSTD that I don't have on my 07 V-Star 1300T. I installed Buck's lowers on my 1300 and the buffeting was noticeable less. The 1300's windshield is about 2" taller so cutting the windshield shouldn't help the buffeting, but Buck's lowers are considerably wider and longer than the stock RSTDs. Has anyone experimented with their lowers or done anything to improve the buffeting? The RSTD is not all that bad but after putting the lowers on the 1300 I am spoiled. Thanks for any comments!

I was reading some post on wind buffeting. Has anyone tried tour wing windows? I put a set on a Honda 900 Custom years ago because the wind buffeting was so bad I couldn't hear the stereo & give me a headake. put the wings on & the buffeting stoped. I could wear a baseball cap & listen to the stereo with no more buffeting. was wondering if it would work on a Venture?

Howdy all - Those of you who put the leveling links on your RSV and ride 2-up - did the leveling links increase the wind buffeting for your passenger? My wife loves to ride, but hated the buffeting we experienced on other bikes we've owned. Without the links, she's loving the Venture. Will she love it after I install the links? Thanks!

Anyone have one of these windshields for 1st Gen they actually go past part of the mirror. The web site doesnt do it justice the bike has the normal wwindshield on it.
