Tried out the new to me Tour Deluxe this weekend and took my lovely wife up to the top of the peak foliage world (which is the Balsam overlook on the BRP in these parts at this time of year) 350 mile day, perfect weather and my best girl finally able to see some of the stuff that I have only seen without her. The Route: From just outside Atlanta, U.S. 23 (I-985) north to just outside Sylva N.C. picked up the BRP and went out to the Inn at Mt. Pisgah then backtracked back to US 276 to Brevard, NC (Great road!) then U.S. 64 from Brevard to Highlands, N.C. finally N.C 106 (Dillard Road) back to U.S. 23 and home. She took several hundred pictures, here are some of the ones I liked best. Especially the little dog tied to the Goldwing. http://s275.photobucket.com/albums/jj302/ThomWill/BRP%20Run%20Oct%202010/

We just attended a Trike Rally over in Maggie Valley, NC. Took quite a few pics of the trike on the BRP. http://monkei.smugmug.com/Motorcycles/TrikeTalkRally2010/12732267_xn3e3#916744496_oMYJY

In June, my wife and I along with another couple will be taking a vacation to ride the Blue Ridge Parkway and Sky Line Dr. There will be 2 bikes and both will be towing a trailer. We are planning on leaving GA traveling north on freeways to Virginia, do some white water rafting and then head over to the northern most end of Sky Line Dr. We want to head south on Sky Line Dr into the Blue Ridge Parkway continuing on BRP to the southern end. This is where I am asking for advise: How many days should I plan to be on SLD & BRP? We want to go at a casual pace enjoying the views and photo opportunities. Also, does anyone know of any "must see" things and places along the way? All advise will be appreciated! I know it's a little early for this because June is a long time off but we need to know how many days vacation requests to put in for.

Don't know about everyone else, but I'm getting a bad case of "Cabin Fever". I was going through some of my vacation pics from last year and found this vidio. My good friend, Allen, was following me on his Geezer Glide with a Go-Pro camera mounted to the front of his bike. The road that we are on is NC hwy 215 just north of the BRP. A big thanks to my wife who put it to music and down loaded it to Youtube. Hope you like it, remember spring is just around the corner. As an avid enthusiast who has logged over 250,000 miles in the seat , The year 2005 ended with me selling my 2004 White (trouble free) RSV and getting involved in the Can Am Spyder preproduction testing with BRP due to a long relationship I had with my local dealer who sells both Can Am and Yamaha (amongst everything else ) At the time I had purchased over 40 Can Am / BRP products over the years and have been featured a couple times on BRP's website as the number one BRP loyalist. I've been invited and toured the facilities in Valcourt Quebec and in general bled Yellow blood for those guys from a marketing standpoint. I then bought 2 Spyders in Early 2007 and my wife and I have spent the last two summer racking up alot of miles. What we have also racked up is a ton of nagging issues, from Dynamic power steering failures , to driveability issues to limp mode problems when the Gear position sensor decided to take a dump etc etc. My dealer and I (Pioneer Motorsport in Sardinia NY) basically helped BRP put together fixes that helped many Spyder owners and after missing the one week of vacation I could get in this crazy world this summer due to 2 failed DPS units on our Spyders , in the end we had a pretty good machine. It's a whole different riding experience that I won't get into here due to space but I was excited to see the 2010 Spyder RT be released 2 weeks ago and will begin delivery Late December here after the snow flies. I went and ordered my 2010 with the factory trailer package and it came in over $30,000. My neighbor runs the largest Can Am BRP website on the web and was chosen along with 4 other journalists to ride the RT for the next 90 days and show the world so to speak. Long story short , he dropped me an email when he picked it up in Quebec and said , sorry Brad , you can't ride it. He had asked BRP if I would be able to give it a spin and give my evaluation, and they said nope. I thought this odd due to my relationship and emailed their VP of Marketing who had set this all up and did my best sell job to get a ride around the block and got 3 sentences that were a blunt "no" and no apologies for all the past issues and oh by the way Demo rides should come to NY later this year or next year. Well , its the Spyder I had dreamt about and it was finally built exactly like I would have designed it as a incredible long haul touring machine. But in 12 hours , I came to my senses and pick up my new Red and Black RSV tomorrow morning at Pioneer. How a company could pick up and throw away a customer like that is just beyond me , but I am feeling absolutely thrilled about my choice to come back to the fold and I hope ya won't hold my past sins against me...

I'm PUMPED !! My Wife and I just got back from riding the BRP from Cherokee to just North of Asheville. What a ride !! We just bought the 02 Midnight V a month ago and took the country roads all the way to Cherokee, then Tues took a ride on the BRP, and today came home. This was my wife's first long Motorcycle ride in her life. She was impressed with the Venture handling of the mountain roads. It might have been the driver (me) cautiously navigating and driving like a Grandpa, having white knuckles around the switchbacks and all that stuff. We enjoyed waving at all the other bikers and couldnt help being a little proud of our new toy. My wife stated "we need some biker clothes". Yeah, we don't look the part. We look like country come to town, but it was a blast even though. The Temp was in the upper 50's in the morning on the BRP and we wore jackets to keep warm. The MV I bought has Bub exhaust which sound pretty cool in the tunnels, especially when I laid into the gas. I saw two other Venture riders at a rest area but couldnt get their attention before they left. We had such a great time I had to tell the people here about the cool weather on the parkway. Thanks a bunch to Sleeperhawk and the Mech for helping me before my trip. Hopefully I will be able to meet others around the site and maybe go to Vogel. We'll see ya on the road...

My brother and I are planning a trip in late September to the Dragon and on up the BRP. The first stop will be in Robbinsville to stay overnight and hit the Dragon/Cherohala the following day. After a day of fun there we plan to head over to Cherokee late in the afternoon and either stop there for the night or get on the BRP and head north for a few miles, probably Ashville or there about. The next day we will continue north until we decide to turn around and head back toward home. Are there any suggestions, from you who know the area, as what to see and where to eat? I'v been told the best streatch of the BRP is between Cherokee and Ashville. Is this true or have I been mis-led? How 'bout it folks. Let me hear from you...
