The new RSTD, ( well new 3 months ago ) just turned 5900 miles. I put the narrow E3 on the front yesterday, and took out for test ride. Yes!! it is better handling, then the OEM Bridgestone. Today, I installed the new Rear E3. and greesed the drive shaft, and rear spline. And yes, it does feel better with the E3 on the rear. So my point here is to confirm all the past comments I have read about changeing the OEM tires on the 2nd Gen. Handles better, and feels more like a 1st Gen Also, the Rear Bridgestone, would have been bald at about 7,000 miles, But decided to remove it today. And, Yes, there was hardley any Factory installed Greese, on the rear Drive spline, or on the drive shaft splines !!! If you have never pulled your rear drive unit, or drive shaft, be sure to do this job, and get you hands Greessy !!!

It's nearly time to swap tires again. So far I haven't seen anything I can get real excited about. Bridgestone Exedra poor handling and short life, Dunlop light on construction and short life, Metzler 880 throws chunks, Commander II doesn't have our size, Avons have cracks and so on. So I have figured out there are no good tires only less bad. Bridgestone came out with the new Exedra Max last year. It has dual compound rubber and a high load rating. Has anyone tried these tires yet? They make both a 'b' size and a plain size (150/80-16 and a 150/80b-16). I assume the b is for belted. Can anyone suggest which would be better for the Venture and why? I am considering these even though they only come in black wall and I prefer white walls. Mike

I recently had my stock Bridgestone rear tire changed to a Dunlop E3 due to wear (17k km) but left the stock Bridgestone on the front since it still has about 1/2 the tread left. In this configuration I'm finding a big improvement in slow speed handling. I know someone recently mentioned Avon front/Dunlop rear but even with Bridgestone front/Dunlop rear I'm feeling the improvement. If it gets better when I replace the front with a Dunlop E3 in about 10k km... great !

Ok so the real question is, can you run two different brand/tread pattern tires on the front and rear... The main reason I am asking is because I am thinking of switching to a M880 and I currently have a Bridgestone on the front. The Bridgestone still has about 1/2 the life left in it.. I have heard mixed stories about traction, handling, and well all out safety..... Some stories I hear is that it's fine to do, and others are just NEVER do that!!! What do you all think... Thanks JM

Hi all Tell your Triumph riding buddies about this. More info on bikerlawyer.com. Bridgestone Motorcycle Tire Defect Bridgestone Americas Tire Operation (BATO) is recalling certain batches of Bridgestone Exedra G850 G defective motorcycle tires sold for MY 2008 and 2009 Triumph Rocket III Touring motorcycles, according to a report in Consumeraffairs.com. It has been found that torque from riding can cause "torque-induced degradation" in a body ply, which may result in inner-liner cracking and lead to a slow leak in the rear tire. When the defective tires are used continuously, they may start to vibrate at moderate speeds or even lead to a motorcycle crash. Bridgestone is working with Triumph to notify owners. The defective tires will be replaced free of charge. Also, the front tire will be replaced free of charge because of the matching requirements of the motorcycle although the front tires are not included in this product defect recall. The safety recall is expected to begin this month. Owners may contact Bridgestone at 1-800-465-1904 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) at 1-888-327-4236. Tire defects related to tire pressure or tread separation issues can have devastating consequences. Even a seasoned motorcycle rider will not be able to control his or her bike if the tire fails suddenly, especially if it happens at freeway speeds. In cases where a serious injury or fatality occurs because of a tire defect, the tire manufacturer could be held liable. Victims or their families could receive compensation for medical/funeral expenses, cost of medication, hospitalization or long-term care and loss of wages among other damages. If you or a loved one has been injured because of a motorcycle product defect such as a tire defect, please contact us at (800) Bill-Ley or visit our website at BikerLawyer.com. We make it our business to protect victims of Texas motorcycle accidents!

My son has a 2005 Honda Shadow Spirit. The tires on it are front 110/80/19 and the back is 160/80/15. Can anyone help me out on other tire sizes that will fit this bike? I haven't had much luck finding these in anything other than Bridgestone and would like to buy him some Avons or Continentals. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Jackie

I only have 5000 miles on my 07 RSV, I have read so many threads about the Bridgestone tires, none being good !!! I have these tires on my bike right now and they seem to be doing fine, but I have nothing to compare them to. My question is... What to expect from new/different brand tires ??? Is the dissatisfaction with Bridgestone, the mileage ? Poor handling ? What ??? And will I notice a big change in the handling of the bike ??? I think it rides and handles good now.... If it get any better, then WOW !!!!!
