Ok so i have been dealing with this for a while and it takes a lot to get this off my chest but i feel very wimpy when going into a turn since I lost my buddy riding 14 months ago. i thought i was over it but I constantly get scared before a turn and slowdown and then reallize how fun the turn would have been a bit faster. I thought it was the new bike but now I have 5000 miles on this bike and I still feel uneasy. I have to say that there are times when I scrape and I have narrowed that down to open visible turns. New jersey with all its foliage has lots of blind curves which I cant see around. I have also notice that if the turn is a large radius I go into it slower but can eventually gain the speed to scrape the floorboards. SO i am thinking my problem is not adjusting my speed to enter the turn correctly. is this just an experience thing. Should i just go out there and ride a twisty road over and over again to practice? I should also mention that my breaks were not up to par and Now that I have good breaks I dont have to panic to stop. My last panic I came up on a turn quick and I wasnt slowing down fast enough hence a grab and stomp on the brakes and a rear lockup through the turn onto the opposite lane. luckily no traffic was there to greet me.

I had my new rear tire put on. SO I decided that I needed to check the front breaks, well turns out they look brand new...and I use my front break maybe more than the rear...don't know if they were put on right before I bought the bike OR they are really good pads....

morning and the shop owner came out & asked me to step in the shop to look at something, rear breaks were gone, caught just in time ... so I got a new tire and breaks... still wasn't to bad $90 to have the tire mounted ( i bought the tire online), balanced , used nitrogen, new rear breaks put on....

2003 with 58000 km on it. Took it out for a ride, seems to ride just fine,, not as nice as a 1st gen, but then it's not a first gen. Steering seemed a little loose, that all. Didn't see any serious marks or breaks. Needs a good cleaning.

While attepmting to remove the headlight bulb tonight, the socket (where the bulb plugs into the wireing) broke. I am guessing this socket, fixture, plug, or whatchamacallit, is part of the wiring harness. Is there anything a person could use to replace this? Other than a new harness? I think that I will get this fixed and then hire someone to do things for me. Fix one thing and another breaks.:confused24: Might give up completely, go into debt, and buy a Can-Am Spder. At least then it would be warranty work. Thanks, Dave

Doing the left eye first! And of course with the oily environment at work, I'm forced to take the next 2 weeks off on DB! Breaks my heart...

I leave tomorrow at 6AM flying into Phoenix, where I’ll spend a few days getting to know my new to me 90 Venture before riding it 1500 + miles home to the pacific northwest. A HUGE thank you to Captain Murph for the loan of his CLASS control unit. I hope I can get it working before I head for home Friday morning. I try to take some pictures along the way and post them when I get back. My plan is to head west to 395 and then follow 395 north to Washington. Keeping my fingers crossed that nothing breaks down along the way Wish me luck Al

Since I am no longer making the centerstands for the RSV, there have been some requests for the measurements of the bracket. Here is one that I quickly through together to get the measurements from. Not that the large holes on the U bracket and the straight bar are 16 mm. The ground out part at the bottom of the bar is so that the stand breaks over the proper amount. This varies per stand. I always put them together and then grind it out until the stand breaks JUST over verticle. Too much and it is hard to get the bike off the stand.
