Hi All, Sometimes I forget that our little 10,520 resident small town turns into a major 8 Million tourist draw and after reading some post here in the Watering Hole I thought I should extend some southern hospitality. I just happen to do a morning show here in Branson every Tuesday Wednesday, and Thursdays called The Big Show, which is Branson's only piano show. If you are coming to Branson, feel free to let me know ahead of time and we will give you some complimentary tickets to the show just for being a fellow venture rider. No strings attached, no time shares, no tours :-) I'll even tell you some of my favorite riding places and BBQ and dinner locations. You can see more info about the show at the website at thebigshowlive (dot) com. You can find my contact info on my members page too. Also, i'm getting my 83 First Gen ready for my first Long distance trip to Colorado in August. Thanks again and happy trails!! Big Clayton

Morning, We are planning a fall(late October) trip to the Branson/ Harrison Arkansas area. We will be staying at the Silver Leaf Holiday Hill Resort for a week. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the weather to expect and if the "colors" are at their peak at this time. We will also want to tour the Harrison area. We have a "Motorcycle Riding Guide of the Ozarks" brochure and it looks like a great area guide. I would appreciate any pointers on "must see" places and kinda unique places to eat and where not to go. Always wanted to ride in that area and now have a chance. Thanks Reno

Going to be at Branson for 4-5 days for a reunion with some old military friends. We are going to ride the bike up that way...my question, what are some good rides around that area? I know it is a beautiful area...just want to make sure we make good use of our time.

We've been in Branson since Thursday and decided to take a drive down to Eureka Springs today. Only thing that would have made it better is if I had my bike.

Barb and I got home from our trip and we're both still grinning. The weather was great, the bike ran perfect, and we had a lot of laughs with our friends. The 4 of us travelled from southern IL to Branson on state and U.S. highways---no interstates at all. Had a great couple of days in Branson. It was too bad that I hadn't read Wild Hair's message while I was in his neighborhood----we were only about 40 miles away and could have visited. Then we went down to Hot Springs. We took Rte. 7 from Harrison to Hot Springs and it is a great road on a bike. We continued our "no interstate" theme and rode to Tunica Miss. and let Mr Harrah put us up for a great price. On the way back to Illinois we stopped in Memphis and had lunch on Beale St. We intend on going back next year for their Wednesday bike night on Beale St. It sounds like there are a lot of bikes there for that. All told, we put just shy of 2,000 miles on the bike. Only one small thing to take care of. Our friends 1800cc Wing decided that it wanted to roll forward and off the kickstand. Our Venture was sharing a parking spot and kept the Wing from hitting the ground. To do this, the Venture had to sacrifice it's radiator cover (it cracked). If somebody has one that they want to part with, please send me a private message. Frank

Trike Riders - are there any trike riders out there that's going to the "Trike Riders International" Ralley being held at Branson, Missouri August 19,20,21? I'll be heading up to Indianapolis 8-15 to meet up with my cousin and some others and then head out to Branson. Below is the web site. Ken:cool10: http://www.trikes.org/rally2010.htm

I am going to be riding from Upper East Tennessee to Branson, MO later this week for a reunion. Is anyone familar with US 60 from Paducah, KY to Springfield, MO? Would this be a good route and also what about US 160 from Poplar Bluff MO, to Branson? Thanks. Cleanerman 06 RSTD 05 C-90

Hey what are the good roads to ride around Branson. I'll be there next week for a few days. We're doing this cause Mama gets tired after a few miles.

I have seen more 1st and 2nd Gen Ventures around the Branson area in the last 3 days than in 3 years in Dallas. I'll bet a few were headed to ES. There was a silver 2nd gen running with a maroon Wing - Buddy? Saw some more in Branson while most were on the highway (65). Anybody we know?

I know this is short notice, but the little lady and I are leaving Dallas for a place just south of Branson, Mo. tomorrow (Friday) morning. We are vacationing for the next week and wondered if anyone local to that area would like to get together. We will be in Ridgedale Friday thru Thursday then heading to E.S. to hook up with the gang there. Weather looks like it is clearing up there, so some good riding and eating may come into play.

We have been known to do rides! but this is going to be a real Ride!. Leaving out June 20th from SLC, Ut. to a nice lake in Roanoak, Va. where there is a cabin and sailboat waiting. Taking about 3+ weeks. Our trip route, right now, is as follows: - SLC to Steamboat Springs, Co. (done this run and it's nice) - Steamboat Springs to Colorado Springs using the mtn roads (of course) through Breckinridege and coming in the back door to Col. Springs. Great BBQ place in Manitou Springs and across the street is a drop dead, cardio disaster fudge shop. Mmmmm. - Col. Springs to Dodge City, Ks. I teach film making at a university, bought the rights to a book, author lives in Dodge.... business meeting you know.... - Next stop, Branson, mo. to visit the daughter who is the Media production manager for the Dutton family Theater. I think this will be a 2 day run. I see toll roads in Ok, and Ak. not sure about those... everything out here is 'free'ways ya know. We are actually going south out of Wichita to the 412 to Tulsa. Maybe staying there or Siloam Springs before heading to Springdale then NE to Branson. Some twisty roads there that are calling me.... - From Branson it will be west and south to Roanoak. Not sure on the route here.. up for suggestions. I think we are leaning towards getting to Roanoak but wandering when we leave heading back... so maybe catchin 64 might be the best? Route back--- - We are liking the idea of Knocksville and Nashville. Have not spent time in the country music capital of the universe (maybe 'cause country and us don't get along... personal issue of course).... but the city seems full of fun stuff to see of a day or so. Up for suggestions here as well. Or we could take a northern route back to Utah. Not really interested in pounding 70 or 80... done that... been there. So that's our adventure this summer. Input, comments welcome. We pack light, travel just fast enough to see the sights and live by the code "all destinations are subject to change if the mood strikes us".
