Are the fronts and rears the same size? My rears have blown and not interested in upgrading them so looking for another stock set.

I finally got around to working on the Venture. Got it running last night and took it for a hour long ride up weber canyon and Trappers Loop - That’s the success part. The bad part is it really does not want to start. With the enrichment on it will pop out the carbs a few times then back fires out the left side enough that the end cap on that side is blown halfway down the street. Usually it takes about ten min of work (some throttle, starter fluid) to get it to start once it starts it runs good. I plan on pulling the carbs and giving them a good cleaning. As I am cleaning them is there anything that I need to be looking for? No need to pull them apart and put them back together with bad parts that I don't know about.

I was riding with a friend of mine coming home from the fire academy today and we were traveling at a pretty good speed. The Fire Engine we were with left slightly ahead of us and we were trying to catch up. We finally caught up to it after traveling at about 85mph for a little while. After we got back into the firehouse he went inside and I stayid outside getting the truck back into service. while standing there, all of the sudden I heard a burst of air release. I looked over at the bikes and the front tire on his bike had BLOWN OUT. I looked at the tire and saw it was all dry rotted. We looked back and thought It could have been bad had it blown while doing 85. Just a little wake up call that you need to be sure you check your tires CLOSELY or you can wind up in the same situation or worse

OK folks, when I activated my Zumo XM, I went with the traffic and the weather package. I understand though that basic weather comes with the traffic. So what is the difference between basic weather and the full blown one that I subscribed to? I paid for 3 months but may want to drop the advanced weather next time.

I was riding my RSV today w/2 up, doing 65-70mph on a straight open ND hiway with no trees, and a 25mph gusting cross wind. I was being blown around pretty good, using up about 1/2 the lane. I was riding with a friend on a Honda Shadow that said he was being blown around too but I don't think as much as me. Then another biker comes up on a cruiser with an addon windshield & soft bag, no fairing or hard bags...this guy flew around us at about 75-80mph with one hand on the bars, waved to us with the other, & had no problem holding his line at all. I continued watching & he kept riding with 1 hand until out of sight. I "think" I have pretty good balance, and riding in wind normally isn't a big deal, but with both my RSV & VR, with a straight cross wind I seem to get blown around more than other bikes. Just wondering if what I experience is "normal" with these bikes or not? I always attributed the issue on the VR to it's high center of gravity, but the RSV seems much lower...so I'm a bit confused...?

Well - for those who responded to my first thread - many thanks. I bought some of those foamy ones and went for a long ride today. Wow - what a difference - blessed quiet and no feeling of being tired, wind blown or goofy (except the usual!!) after the ride. I'll be wearing them for every ride now!! Cheers Eugene
