On the local news yesterday evening, it was noted that it was 19 years ago to the day that the blizzard hit. They showed some pictures and I remember it well. We got a little over two feet of wet snow. I was in Nashville when it hit and it chased me across the state back to the north east part of the state. I would have done better if we had not stopped in Knoxville to eat. By the time we got out of the restaurant, it had snowed 4-5 inches and I was still 100 miles from home. Speaking of 100 miles, that is about what Linda and I put on the bike yesterday, riding around in 74 to 78 degree beautiful sunshine. I liked that a lot better than trying to get around in two feet of snow and no electricity at the house and no heat. RandyA

RE: Our ride of a lifetime I can't believe we attended Sunday morning services in Rapid City, South Dakota, and just ate supper with our daughter near Washington DC this Tuesday evening. We arrived safe and dry, thank the Lord. For those who know of our ride through the blizzard in Montana, we had a great ride to Olympia, Washington then back to Yellowstone. This time the weather was great! The pass over the Bighorn National Park was awesome - Mt Rushmore - indescribeable! We have a week to spend here with our daughter, son-in-law and 3 grandkids. Then we head back to Arkansas via the Blueridge Parkway. The only trouble we've had (other than the blizzard on two Montana passes) is that my Piggybacker XL is EATING TIRES. 6,000 miles plus and counting Missionary Rider

I put a deposit down on a '06 Black Cherry. Blues Lover told me about it so I stopped at the shop in London last weekend on the way to the Kitchener M&E and was only able to see it through the front window because they were closed. After several e-mails back and forth this week, they saw the light and we came to an agreement on the phone this morning. Can you think of a better way to spend your time in the middle of a blizzard? Sure hope my old body will let me ride again. I guess we're going to find out. Just have to wait for the snow to melt enough to get my trailer out of the barn.
