OK I have the resistor connected to the BLINKER WIRE, and then to the same ground in the plug. The blinker blinks but no running light. Changer back to 1157 (with R still installed) and have blinker and running light as they should be. Change to DIFFERENT LED and (still) have blinker but no running light. 4 different LEDs do this. I was coming home from work this evening and was making a slow left turn when my rear wheel slid out from under me and down I went. Luckily I was going real slow at the time and wasn't hurt. My bike a 96 Royal Star Tour Classic didn't get hurt to badly either. The crash bars did their job pretty well. My right saddle bag got a little road rash and I busted up my right front blinker and passing lamp. I have an extra blinker set and passing light bar but I do not have a passing lamp for the right side. I have one that works on the left side with the toggle switch but after a quick look they don't seem to be interchangeable. Would anyone out there possibly have a right side passing lamp that they would be willing to part with? Please P.M.me if you do. Thanks.. The only other thing I noticed while doing a quick check of the damage was that I have oil dripping from what looks like some type of overflow hose located near the front of the bike just back of the radiator. Any ideas on that? I have a 14 hour day at work tomorrow so I guess any work on the bike will have to wait for the weekend..Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

I am installing OEM passing lamps on a 2006 RSV. Everything had been going great. I am at the point where I mount the lamps to the bike and begin connecting the wires from the blinkers to the connections inside the faring. To my delight after I hooked up the left blinker - Black, Chocolate, and blue - then the right blinker, Black, Dark Green, and blue, to the wires inside the faring both blinkers worked, and the head light, high and low beam worked. I did not like the way I had brought a few of the wires into the faring so I disconnected the black wire, from the right blinker, and moved it around the mount bracket, and plugged it back in. I turned my bike on and now my head light will not come on and the lights on my dash board will not come on either but my blinkers work. Here is what I have checked; 1) Every fuse on the bike - none blown 2) Pulled the head lamp bulb out - still good 3) Disonnected all wires coming from the blinkers to the wires in the faring and made sure all connections were good. - still no head light I am at a loss. Any help would be much appreciated!

I would like to use the front fork lock position on my ignition switch from time to time and have noticed that when I do the blinker lights come on and stay on. They dont blink they just come on. What's up with that?

Is the screw that holds the blinker lens in something different than a regular phillips head? I was trying to use a standard phillips screwdriver and did not have any success. I am trying to figure if mine are wallowed out phillips head or something different as far as the head goes.

awhile back somebody posted a pic of red pointed rear turn signal lenses that fit the standard turn signal. Similar to the old caddy/chevy cars from the fifties. I would be interested in adding them to my bike, but not if I have to change the whole blinker. I noticed that the Strats have a pointed clear lens, and wonder if they would fit the rstd/venture. Any help would be appreciated

I have a 08 venture. The frunt blinker lights stay on all the time like clerance lights. Do the back ones stay on like that or did some thing hapen when I hooked up my driving lights? I checked the wires they are hooked up the same as they were. I don.t rember if the back lights were on all the time or not. Have only had the bike 2 weeks. Memery isn't that good. Thanks

Has any one used Lazer Star Billet lights on a Venture? If so how do you like them & what kind of a adapater did you use going from the light to the blinker? My lights are U.S. & the mount for the blinker is Metric. Thanks!!

Hey folks, help me out here. You guys seem to be of a very savvy generation who might know how to revert back to the "good ol' days" with your technical know-how. I want to take a severe shortcut to set up turn signals on a very old Yammy that is devoid of any modern electrical components. I'd really like to put the required turn signals on it by simply going from the battery, through the handlebar switch, to the blinker can, and straight to the bulbs. Why wouldn't that work? I did it using motorcycle and auto 3-prong blinker cans and all I get is a buzz and too much heat in the heavy duty wires. However, the proper lights will shine when the turn signal switch is moved left or right, but no blink. Just the buzz and heat. What do you think gives here other than me being a complete idiot who does not deserve my sweet little '85 VR?

All of the sudden I started blowing the fuse for blinker and gauges. I replace it and my volt gauge will show 13 for a while then bounce down to 8. Sometimes it comes back up but not always but the fuse will then blow again. Any Ideas???
