Well I have been kinda looking for a bike my wife can learn on. I ran across a 2009 Buel Blast 500. They are asking $2600 for it. I have NO experience with Buel bikes. I also do not know about the pricing, is it worth the asking? It has about 20,000 miles on it and some scuffs and scrapes from normal use and what looks like a light laydown. Any ideas? Thank You, Shaun

Wanted to pass on what happened to me on the way to work this morning and to show how much we have to watch out for those who dont pay attention to how they are driving... I was in the middle lane (of course driving the speed limit) when a driver started pulling into my lane from the right, I let go with a blast of the airhorn (hee hee) and the olny responce was he covered his head with his hood... Not even a sorry nod or anything.. Please keep your eyes open when on the road.....

My girlfriend is finally looking for a bike of her own... and she's not making it easy. Not only is she on a pretty limited budget at this point (around the $3K mark), she's also more vertically challenged than I am. At only 5" tall, there aren't a slew of options to choose from. However, on a trip to the local dealer, she sat on a used Buell Blast. Not only did she look pretty good on it, she could flat foot it. I'm not sure if it was the low-profile seat or the standard. Now this morning, there is a 2001 Blast for sale locally on Craigslist for $2,000. We're going to get in touch with the guy and find out when we can come take a look at it. If the bike is in good shape, the price is below Blue Book. I just don't know anything about them. I think a 500cc is a good place to start, as I hate to see her start on a 250 Rebel or the like. She's already taken the beginner's course and has her license, so she's not starting from scratch. Does anyone know if they're reliable bikes or not, for the most part? I do a Google serach, and of course, you always find a ton of negatives, but not so many positives. That's the only problem I have with most internet forums. Most people don't use them unless they want to complain, or need help with a problem. Seldom do they get on to brag about how great their bike is. Know what I mean? So any pro's or con's out there from anyone? Even if you know a guy who knows a guy that owns one, that's more than I've got. Thanks for any thoughts.

I'm sure it's been said before, but if anyone has an opportunity to take an "experienced rider course", I highly recommend it. I just completed one on Sunday, and I had a blast. I wouldn't say I learned a ton I didn't already know (at least in theory), so much as I was able to become more comfortable with my bike, and put things into practice in a controlled environment. I watched my dad throw his Goldwing around like a toy, to the amazement of us both. And to make it more interesting, we got to practice "emergency braking in a curve", right about time time it started pouring down rain. We all had a blast, and a couple of us have already discussed taking it again next year, just for the practice.

Well finally got out. Was 43 degrees today. Only rode about twenty or twenty-five miles today but man did that feel good. I was at my local dealership and they brought out a roadliner for someone to test drive. Then before they could take it back in I started asking some questions about it. Well Tom there said jump on and take it for a spin, didn't have to tell me twice.lol They knew I wasn't gonna buy cause I'm a venture guy. Still it was fun with a ton of torque to boot. Not exactly my style of machine but for a second ride maybe it would be all right. Probably would go with a roadstar if given a choice though. But if you like the looks it would certainly be a blast to own. Anyway taking my bike out tomorrow supposed to be 47 for a high. Oh they had two 07's there for sale blue/black and a really pretty red and black one too. I bought my 07 from their sister store last year. Really great folks Team Winnebagoland on Oshkosh, Wi they also own Team Motorsports in Green Bay, Wi. Danimal

No it was on my First Gen, but it was still a thrill. A friend of mine took me up in his "Experimental" plane today that he built himself. It is a beautiful two seat powerhouse that was a blast on a Sunday afternoon. We made a low pass back by the airport at over 200 mph, it was a blast to see how fast the ground moves past you at over 200 mph.....
