Ok after the M&E saturday everyone else headed out for a ride and Laura and I set out for the Biltmore. We stayed there about 4 hrs and never went inside. Laura is studying to get her sertificate in photgraphy and part of this semesters classes is in drawing...Yeah I dont know either but she does so all is well. Anyways she chose the biltmore as her final project in the drawing class . She had to take pics of the biltmore and do drawings of the 3 she picked so she went a litle crazy. This is most of what she took. http://s569.photobucket.com/albums/ss133/painterman6709/Biltmore%20estates/ Hope you enjoy as much as I did. I seen a lot of things I never noticed before there through her eyes in the camera. later David

For all of you that visited the Biltmore while in Ashville and paid by credit card.....BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR STATEMENT. I got my bill yesterday only to learn that they triple charged me for 1 ticket. I had the receipt for my one ticket and they then ran my card through 2 more times. .....They must have thought I was seriouis when I said that Riderduke was my spouse and Muffinman was my mistress (it was a family outing). I spoke to them at the Biltmore and tickets for a group will be $36 a person. Not sure about the concert yet. They are calling me back in the morning to let me know if there are any tickets left and what the price would be. She's going on the assumption that we're all gonna want to go. I figured might get a good price that way. She did say it's been $20 more for the concert ticket. So if we can't get to the concert we'll find something else to do. 1rooster said he had something up his sleeve for friday night but won't tell me what. That price for the tickets alone is great the cost at the door is $47 and online is $42. I'll add to this thread when I get the call tomorrow. Thanks for your patience folks. Margaret

I posted this in another thread, but just in case someone missed it. At the Biltmore on friday they are having a concert. The musician is BB King. There's a combo ticket. Here's the way they price out. General Seat ($32) + Biltmore* ($42) = $74 Now $52 Reserved Seat ($37) + Biltmore* ($42) = $79 Now $57 Premium Seat ($47) + Biltmore* ($42) = $89 Now $67 Evidently they have a special now since they seem to have discounted their tickets. Or it has to do with the fact that folks just aren't going like before gas prices went up.Now if you'd like to go to the concert let me know so I can make sure you all get there. I only had one person ask about it so far. Figured maybe not everyone saw the original post in the biltmore thread. Margaret

I need to know how many folks are gonna be going to the Biltmore on Friday the 8th. I'm going to get in touch with them in the next week or so. They give group discounts I think. Just need a number. Might even get ourselves an earlier open so we could get in before everyone else. Anyway let me know Please. Margaret

I didn't want to wait too long I know lots of folks need to get their dates in for vacations by the beginning of the year. So here it goes: August 6 thru 10th of 2008 will be the date for the Asheville event. That was the date that got the most votes and a few said either was good. I have heard from some that they'd like to go to the Biltmore house I know they have group rates, but you have to call. So this week I'll call and find out what that would be. I know one of our members was involved with a car group that went so I may tap him for help on this. I'm figuring maybe that friday would be the best day for this. I know with all the events it's hard to choose, at least this way you have advanced knowledge on when this will be. I'll post with any other details as time goes on. I'm going to ask the advice of others who have organized events like this. This is the first time I'll be organizing something so big, just hope I can give you all a good time. If you're interested in checking out what's at the Biltmore here's their web address: http://www.biltmore.com/visit/default.asp Margaret
