  1. MOTORCYCLE CARB BALANCER Amazingly simple yet incredibly accurate Motorcycle Carb Balancer. This incredibly simple device will synch your bikes carbs like no other balancer with 'pinpoint accuracy" for a fraction of the cost of some balancers. Certain tradesmen tools rely on nature to help find a certain accuracy, for example a plumb line and bob will always show a true vertical line. A spirit level cannot lie. This carb balancer uses gravity in a similar manner to show a true centre, this is why it is so accurate. Other balancers costing far more often compare the vacuum readings of the different carbs with each other and can sometimes be difficult to decipher, this carb balancer is different, as it compares the vacuum readings with a known truthful centre, namely 'gravity." Inside the balancer are two tiny balls, one of these balls has the sole job of telling you nature's centre via gravity, the other ball is influenced by the vacuums taken from two carbs at any one time. If the two carbs are working in harmony the two balls will align, if not the lower ball will move to one side. Simply turn the screw on you bike's carbs to align the two balls and synch the carbs, its as easy as that! The Carb Balancer can synchronise 2,3 and four cylinder bikes. Start with the base cylinder and any other carb, then subsequent carbs. The base cylinder is the carb with the throttle stop/tick over screw. Repeat the process to super synch your carbs.If your carbs are badly out of synch your engine will be under terrific extra strain as your pistons are working against each other, and not with each other, sapping vital power and fuel.   3. I know lots of members here seem to like the Dyna Beads for tire balance. In general, I am not a fan of adding ANYTHING to my tires except air, but I have never joined that discussion since I didn't have any real information or first hand experience with the product. Well, now I have some info that I thought I would share in the hopes of maybe helping a few members here not waste their money. I am a huge believer in Motorcycle Consumer News - I won't go into all the reasons why at this time, but I have great faith in their testing and opinions. The following comes from their answer to a letter asking about Dyna Beads in the February 2010 issue: " MCN evaluated the Dyna Beads on a reader's suggestion back in October of 2006. Although the tiny white ceramic beads have apparently found favor with long-haul truckers, we tested them in a Honda 599. Using a shop's spin balancer, we checked the bike's rear wheel, which had 1.6 oz. of balance weights in place. The balancer agreed with the amount and location of the weights. After installing the specified two ounces of beads in the rear tire and then removing the rim weights, the balancer found an out of balance condition. This test was repeated five times and the balancer continued to call for the replacement of the 1.6 oz. of rim weights in the same location. Over-the-road testing was next. Without the rim weights, the rear wheel produced noticeable vibration and the installation of the beads gave a barely perceptible improvement. Also, the weight of the beads added so close to the tire tread gave a noticeable increase in gyro stability, making the steering heavier. We also tried them on a car and were disappointed.   4. well my tire balancer build and sell idea went down the river. i can beat the ebay and internet prices but i can't compete with the chinese and harborfreight prices. mine would be better but there's would work fine and be cheaper. so i'm out of business before i got started.
  5. i bought a nice wheel balancer on ebay this morning. any one looking for one cheap they have several kinds to choose from. mine was buy now for $95.95, and 15.00 shipping. after much pondering i think it was the most bang for the buck. figuring my time and materials i could'nt build one any cheaper. check them out on ebay. just punch in motorcycle tire balancers, on ebay. a real bargain and looks like good quality. bill
  6. Two questions: Has anyone ever used both. I have been using E3s with good luck but, need to replace the rear @ 11.5K not bad, but could be better I think. The front has over 50% remaining. I just wondered if anyone could say which one lasted longer for them. Two I know a few posters on the site have said they've purchased the HF tire changer w/mc tire option. What's your opinion? Worth it and did you buy a mc tire balancer as well or how are you balancing your tire/wheels? I'm mechanically inclined, but also don't want to spend money on those and then go back to taking the wheels to the shop to change them out. Thanks for the advice.
  7. My new metzeler ME880 rear tire just arrived. My brother and I bought a harbor freight tire changer ($50.00), motorcycle tire adapter ($40.00), and I just ordered a marcparnes balancer ($120.00). Has anyone used the marcparnes balancer? Seems like it should work well.
