Does anyone know the recommended adhesive or foam tape to re-attach the side badges with? Any assistance / advise would be greatly recommended. Thanks. Stu

I believe I want to remove the tank badges and whiskers from the fairing. I have already removed the sticker from the tank and the 'Yamaha' from the trunk. For those I used WD-40 to get the glue off, then used wax to clean up the mess that the WD-40 just smeared around. First off, are the tank badges just double sided taped on? Or, am I going to have to fill holes like in the old days? Secondly, is there something out there better for getting the glue off than WD-40, that won't hurt the paint? WD-40 and wax does do it, but it takes alot of elbow grease too. And lastly, is there and easy was of getting these chrome items off without damaging them? - Just in case I want to put them back on at a later date. craigr

OK...with extremely SORE THUMBS, I am happy to say that I have removed ALL of my tank badges. WOW, the tank badges were really stuck on there! Now, the reason I did this is because in June my hometown (Blytheville, AR) is hosting a Car and Motorcycle Show and have paid a professional pinstriper to come in and do some pinstriping on the cars and motorcycles. That doesn't mean I am gonna have pinstriping done on my tank, I may just personalize the trunk or something. I really don't know what I am gonna do yet...which I why I am posting. For those that have removed your tank badges...did you just leave it like that, did you have graphics painted on it, or did you have painted? Or did you do something else. Pictures would be great...am I gonna steal your idea? No, but I might borrow "parts" of it. LOL Wally

How does one acquire the badges associated with your forum name when you post? If that makes sense to anyone; I will be amazed but I can't think of any other way to explain it.
