This bike was bought from a guy out of Havanna, Fl. It's a '99 with about 18k miles on it. The pinstriping reminded me of Jaybird's handiwork. The guy that bought it lives within 15 miles of me and we got together today for about 4 hours for a mini MD and general BS section just to get acquainted. Real nice guy. His and mine are the only RSV's around me. The saddlebag hinges have the inserts that I've seen like are on Freebird's bike, without the engraving. I'm just thinking this bike has made it up to Don's at some point in time. It's running a little rough but we're gonna run some Seafoam in it for awhile and see it it'll clean it out. I did a carb sync and it runs much better but they were way out. It's been sitting up for awhile. If running the Seafoam in it doesn't do it then we'll take the carbs off one weekend and give them a really good inspection. So, what say ye, anybody recognize this bike??

I am headed to Omaha tomorrow to pick up a new to me 05 Tour Deluxe! I have been keeping my eye open for one in my price range and this one came up! I know I'll take some heat from some of you old timers but don't you just love it when I come back from time to time!

I'm having my Gall bladder out Thursday and I have a question for anyone who has had it out the old fashion way ( they have to do a biopsy at same time and that's near the liver) Laproscopic is out. I just wonder how the recovery went. This is my first major surgery and getting a straight answer from the doctors is tough. I know the RSTD gets parked for awhile. WebMD sayes 4 to 6 weeks -- truth? How about all the other things food, pain activities Etc.? Thanks up front

Hey all, B2Dad is having surgery Tuesday on his right hand. He has arthritis in his thumb and the doctor at Vanderbilt is inserting a tendon (from his arm) and putting it in the joint at the base of his thumb. He has been in awful pain for awhile now but finally decided to get this done. The surgery won't be too bad, outpatient, but the healing process will take awhile and doctor said it may be 8 weeks before he can ride. Will you please pray for me while he is "laid up" and can't ride? Then again, I could learn to drive the bike and take him for a ride, doncha think? As soon as the weather gets better of course... Patti

So awhile ago, I replaced my stator. I did not put any kind of sealant around the plug that the wires go through. I remember having a dickens of a time getting the wires through those plug holes! The wires are covered by some kind of woven material...but I managed. Now after returning from a 6 day trip, I find I get a few drops of oil, under the side stand. I removed the cover, and the wires coming out of the stator have a covering over them, rubber or vinyl or something of that sort. When I squeezed this covering, it was saturated with oil, and a lot came out. I am thinking that since it was full, it would continue dripping. Now that I have squeezed oil out, it will probably take awhile to saturate the covering again. Finally to the question....would it help to apply silicone or gasket seal material to the outside of the wires where they exit the stator? I probably will never get all the oil and grease off the outside of the wires and am not sure if this stuff would stick, or even do any good. Whats the concensus? Just put up with the drips once in awhile, or try and stop it? Sorry for long winded story. Thanks.

Rode up Lookout Mtn. over the weekend. Just installed new pads on the rear, cleaned the calipers, etc. Refilled the fluids. Halfway down the mountain, NO rear brakes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now its tough turning hard left or right, 30-40 degrees inclined down with the front brakes only! Sure changes the dynamics!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Any idea as to where to start to look? This happened once before? Once the rears sat for a bit, I could pump them back up, but got kinda hairy there for awhile!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Folks: I have a high beam indicator with a mind of it's own. Blue light works if it feels like it and takes a break whenever... Sometimes after I've been out for awhile it will come on then works fine for the rest of the ride. Temperature and dampness do not seem to matter. Any ideas? Wayne

I have been fighting computer problems that last two days. Anyway, just a reminder, Microsoft has a lot of Security updates for free download on their sight. If you have not checked this for awhile.

I found these from JC and wondered if anyone had mounted these or tried. http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/Product/Pr-p_Product.CATENTRY_ID:2000645/c-10111/Nty-1/p-2000645/Ntx-mode+matchallpartial/N-10111/tf-Browse/s-10101/Ntk-AllTextSearchGroup?Ntt=deflector I rode a wing with them awhile back and liked them so I was wondering.
