well i learned you should avoid bady shops like the plague because if you are pulling into one you probably cant drive in the first place. well 2 and a half months ago i was driving by one near my home when i noticed a truck stop in the oncoming lane with his blinker on i figured since he stopped he saw me. then as i was about to pass he decided to turn i locked up my R1 and managed to slow just enough to slam into the rear of his truck shattering the front of my bike and breaking my wrist

Does anyone know if/where fender/stone guards are available to fit the Hannigan trike? I've spent a few minutes searching and I can find them for every trike kit but Hannigan. I spent an hour this morning washing the trike and cleaning bug guts off the bike. I'd like to avoid gravel chips and such to the paint job.

This is a UK motorcycle vid with some real interesting insights into why bikers arent seen on the road. It shows how they think we can do a couple of things to avoid being hit and be seen much better. BTW SMIDSY is the British term for Sorry Man I Didnt See You when the car does a left turn into a biker. A good friend of mine got hit exactly like this a week ago and has been in a coma until yesterday, he is starting to come around today, but still is in intensive care unit with ruptured speen, broken hip and leg and more..... PLease ride safe!!! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqQBubilSXU]Crash Course - The SMIDSY - YouTube[/ame] Brian

A friend and I are planning a spring trip to Talcott WV down RT 16 from the Ohio River. I am trying to avoid Summerville and Gauley Bridge. Gauley Bridge has 750 resisdents. They write more speeding tickets than anywhere in the state or WV. They write MORE than the state capitol city. I would be coming from the Cleveland Ohio area and want to avoid these spots. Any suggestions from our WV brothers? I want to take 16 down so I can see the folks and turn off before the traps. 16 is also just a great road. Thanks, Geo

We are planning a trip to the U.P. of Michigan. Porcupine mts. Is one of the stops we are going to make. What else is cool to see up there? And what route would be the best to take and what places to avoid?

I am looking at purchasing a 2005 Royal Star Tour Deluxe, this is an upgrade from the 1982 Honda Deluxe I go back and forth to work on. My mechanical knowledge of bikes is minimal to changing oil, filter and charging battery, oh I can change light bulbs to. I have a few questions; do they make a lowering kit for it? Is there anything I should be cautious about or look for on this bike that would tell me to avoid it (other than the leaks, drips and signs of damage)? Is there some other instrument cluster you could get for it be either aftermarket or off a different model bike (just don’t care for that look)? Thanks!

My trunk is busted up pretty bad from stress cracks and I need a new one. The PO tried repairs with something that looks like JB Weld and did a bad job. Pieces gone, etc. Anybody use an aftermarket one? Which one? Which ones do I avoid? I see a bunch on them on eBay and I am open to suggestions. I'm sure I'm not the first to ask about this but haven't found a thread so far. Thanks for helping the newbie.

Thanks to my new found aquaintances, I have made the decision to buy a used RSV. I have located 3 or 4 in the local area, and they are all in the $7000 to $8000 range, with most being 2003 models. What do I look for, and what do I avoid? One of them has a Corbin seat that seems much harder than the stock one, and cost the original owner hundreds of dollars. Keep it, or have the dealer swap it for a stock one from one of the other bikes in the showroom? What's with the chat about clutch or gear whine? Something I need to know or worry about? I think you all get the idea. I do NOT ask that you buy the bike for me, but I know nothing about this model, and welcome any and all assistance. God bless you all, and thanks in advance.

Leaving Milwaukee tomorrow, thursday, and having some leeway as to where to go in a westerly direction...I was wondering if anyone could suggest a route to avoid the worst of it? Any roads beside the interstate that might be fun to go westerly?

Ok...I'm trying to avoid a rant here but after 7 years with the same provider they ticked me off for the last time. I shut off my account for both my own and my daughters cell phones. So I'll avoid the reasons why at this point and go directly to my search for a new provider. I haven't looked at other providers for the last seven years so I've been kind of out of the loop on whats what. Stopped at a couple of others to check out the plans and been Googling the daylights out of my 'puter since I got home. I'm leaning towards Verizon at this point. So.....any comments good or bad on them? Their sales staff were attentive to my needs and offered up a pretty decent package, or so it seems until I finish reading all the fine print. Along that line anyone using them and the VZ Navigator app? I'm fine without a cell for a few days ..or longer...but I'm doing CPR on my 18 year old daughter every ten minutes. I don't know if she's going to make it through the night. I cut that girls cord 18 years ago and she survived this long.....but this time I may have killed her. Any comments would help save a life.......probably mine! Mike

Just by looking quickly at craiglist that should gets something in the 95 and under range. What year should he avoid or what are some of the nuances of any particular year? Any help is appreciated. Cant talk him into a first gen...lol.

Hi all, Normally I wouldn't bother suggesting some computer application or system feature that might impress me. I'm comfortable as a closet nerd over all. My inner Geek walks alone. However, I've been in on the beta for a new msn feature that just went in to public beta a while back that I thought my be of benefit to a good percentage of this crowed. Mainly for the several easy options for getting to your files while on the road. Its also fantastic if you have a lot of friends or family to share photos and stuff with. And completely free of charge. to avoid sounding like I'm out to sell it for them or something, I'll avoid any specifics. Besides, I let the geek go the next time I look up, we'll have half a tech support manual. He doesn't get out much. If you think you could use something like this, go out to mesh.com and look around and if you have a question, feel free to ask. Just helping where I can, Pain

I have a Motion Pro synchronizer. It seems like a lot of times when I am almost done the mercury separates. After that I am afraid to make any adjustments. Any body have any suggestions to avoid this?

I think I have the issue that so many have had with the baffles in the collector. When I start it there's a rattle. It's there when I rev and when I down shift but not on a steady throttle. If it's the baffles, can that cause anything other than irritation? If I remove the baffles and put the collector back together will that cause any problems? I would rather not spend the money on anything new if I can avoid it.

Much talk has taken place here lately about the danger of hitting dear. Rightly so and we should certainly take it to heart. However, a friend and I were riding to Florence, AL from Decatur this past Saturday evening to watch a football game and encounted another hazard, maybe not as dangerous, but certainly not anything you would want to happen. My friend was in the lead, in the right lane when I noticed a hawk in the median of the divided four lane. As he approached it, it took off across the highway in front of him about 2 feet high. He did not see it, until, to avoid a collision, the hawk went verticle right in front of his windshield just missing the top of his helmet. It seemed the hawk then stalled and the turbulance from bike cause it to sink, this time in front of me - at least I was seeing this unfold and swerved to avoid a collision. A 2 to 3 lb bird with a 3 to 4 ft wing span in you face would certainly mess up your day. Food for thought!!

Actually, this is more like murder. This is just terrible. "Because of your recklessness, which was passing another vehicle in a no-passing zone, Todd had no choice but to run off the road to avoid hitting you head-on. You caused the crash that resulted in his death and the injury to his wife. You didn't even care enough to stop and help them." http://www.newarkadvocate.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071020/OPINION03/710200325/1014/OPINION
