I have 87 royale and was wondering about removing the stereo/tape deck. Then installing a newer radio with IPOD attachment. If I did this would the CB still work? Or is there more involved in keeping the old CB?

Got a call yesterday afternoon from Uwe at UNB Customs in Denver, NC. My sidecar conversin is ready to pick up on Monday. The used sidecar became a mini nightmare. Originally it was connected to a HD Ultra and Uwe had to order the correct attachment arms. This was four weeks ago. Hannigan sent the wrong kit a week later, and it took another week to get the right kit. Uwe assembled the kit to find out that the attachment clips to the bike were wrong. Another week goes by and the clips come in. Uwe hooks these up and WHAT DO YOU THINK HAPPENS? The bolts on the upper attachment require one left hand thread and one right hand thread, they sent two right hand threaded bolts. But all is right with the world now. Plenty of time this winter to get used to this set up.

I've got a question for those that have had their stators jump off the crankshaft when they've left the puller on overnight. When I started to pull mine, I loosened the attachment bolt several turns, then attached my puller with 100mm long bolts. I don't see how it could jump off--it still has the attachment bolt that'll stop it in 1/8" or so. You would have to remove the bolt completely for it to jump off, but what would you push on?? Of coures as of this morning when I left for work mine still hadn't come loose. Am I missing something?? Also, what is special about the PCW Racing puller that make it cost so much?? It says that it's guaranteed to pull the rotor first try. The only difference I see is that the bolts that you screw into the rotor have that piece on them that keeps them straight. Frank

This afternoon, my wife and I were riding at approximately 50 mph in the Ocala, FL National Forest when I saw the windshield of my '01 RSV quickly leaving the bike. I was able to tuck my chin and the windshield struck my shoulders and helmet driving my head into my wife's face. Thankfully, she has a full face shield that doesn't flip up. I grabbed for her leg as if I was going to keep her from falling (lol) and we pulled over. After confirming we were OK, we turned around and found the destroyed windshield. The attachment points looked OK. We returned home and I got on this site and found that many bikes have had cracking on the attachment tabs. Thinking that was it, I took off the chrome piece and the tabs look brand new. I guess the 6 screws could have been loose. I bought this bike used last year and have put on about 3,000 miles and the fairing has not been apart that I know of. Any thoughts on how this could have happened and where to buy a replacement w/s, Thanks in advance.

Is it possible to send an attachment via the built in Email function on this site? There have been a few people that have had difficulty opening the PDF files that I have posted in the past from the site. When I email them a copy it seems to work fine. An example is today Jimbob5 can not open the files in the Starting circuit thread I posted last night, but others can. I would email him a copy but first need to PM or email him for his email address rather than just being able to send it to him first time. Gary

noticed that you are using the new logo as your avatar. Here is one with a transparent background for you. I have tried to post it as an attachment but the system keeps converting it to a jpg and that loses the transparency. http://www.c-edesign.com/VR.GIF
