Just bought a 1985 gold wing aspencade 1200 and I'm thinking I may need a new battery? There are times where it will turn over as if the battery has very little power left. Then there are times where it turns over like it's saying "oh this is nothing" doesn't matter if I'm starting it for the first time that day or from after riding awhile. We (father) and me checked the charging system and it is charging at about 13.8-14.4 @2800 cruising speed. My grandfather ADC recommended to put a extra ground cable on the starter to the block to help ground the starter. Is there anything else I should check?

A friend is looking for a Horizontal 1 1/4" type Receiver Hitch for his 1998 Aspencade. Does any have one or know of one please ? Nothing in the Classifieds section. I thought there was a classified section for the Goldwings. Nothing in the other sections besides a Goldwing wheel for sale. Thank you for your help. Fuzzy

1986 Honda Goldwing Aspencade - Triked with the same trunk that was on the two wheel bike. The pictures show what he has now and the parts are missing. He was at my house today to pick up a flag mount. A friend at church needs a part for his latch on his trunk. He has looked and says he gives up. So I volunteered to help him find the part. I told him that I had connections that worked every time. He is not computer oriented. He needs this for his original trunk, part of the latch that is connected to allow the latch to grab hold of the top lid hasp. The lid is fairly large and it has a wind deflector sport type visor on it also. There is two parts there, one on each side of the lid. He said there is a part that goes in the latch on the bottom, a couple small rods of some type. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Fuzzy

A friend of mine dropped by last night to show of his '86 Aspencade with 86K miles which he bought for $1000. By the outside lights it looks like it is pretty decent. He plans to ride it until he finishes customizing his wing's paint job and offered to sell it to me at that time for the same 1000. Without other research (you guys are it so far), I imagine that you guys are going to tell me that at that price I can't go wrong?? How about the bike itself? Problem areas (alternator?)? How does it compare to my '83 Royale? Or is that like apples and oranges? Thanks!

Being in customer service, I was chatting it up w/ a guy that called in. He asked about hobbies so I mentioned motorcycles. He said he has been riding for 40 yrs, he asked what I rode and he started saying how the '95 Venture Aspencade has stator problems from what he heard. After questioning him on it he said, oh I mean '85 Venture Aspencade. Tried to correct him on it, but to no avail didn't work so I just let him think what he wanted to. Didn't get a chance to ask what he rode.

Well went and picked up the trunk that I will put on my RSTD. I took backrest off and positioned the trunk on the back and cool. Once I get the rack installed and the trunk all painted to mach and the backrest and armrest and pockets done in Black material it will look great. It is a trunk off an aspencade with trunk rack, side rails and also rear lights built into the trunk. The lines of the trunk I think will look good with the sadle bag lines seems to all kind of blend in. Cant wait to get ur done. star4772 :)

Hi Everybody; Just traded my 96 Royal Star for an 01 bagger: Old guy owned 11K mi example...sweet Picking it up tomorrow Couple ??...I've owned most of the touring models: 83 Venture 78-91 GW Voyager Just about everything except an HD and this RSV Couple questions you experts can answer: 1. How topheavy is it? Surely not as bulbous as my 91 Aspencade! (That thing was like trying to mount an elephant and was absolutely scary in a parking lot with rocks...I kept my 85 Aspencade and was glad I did...still have it) 2. I read some threads on here saying there was a difference between the 01-07 models? I thought after 01 they stayed pretty much the same? 3. Were the WW tires original to some of these, or aftermarket... 4. What about the clutch basket recall...was this model affected and should I have dealer fix before taking delivery? We're going to Savannah next month, might as well go in style with the best (if it's anything like my Royal Star...I like Yamaha quality!) Thanks, Guys! Ride Safe!! http://www.timemachinewatch.com/buy/rsv01.jpg

1988 up after market GL 1500 rotor covers on 1st or 2nd gens Ventures or RS std. I saw them on a 1985 GL1200. I just aquired a rare 1984 GL 1200 standard ( no fairing on front ), pre owner did add touring pkg off Aspencade with tour box. This winter will do this install on my 87 V.R. and the 84 GL std.
