  1. http://www.bohn-armor-pants.com I found a link to this site while browsing. The pants look interesting, I already have an armored jacket that I like. Has anyone used Bohn armor or have an opinion. I broke my right arm & shoulder in an accident 3 years ago, so am getting back into riding more cautiously than I have been in the past.
  2. Check this out, if it is real you will not need any other protective armor http://www.wimp.com/xiongear/
  3. Went of for a cruise today. Put on just under 100 miles. It was beautiful:thumbsup: Of coarse I was wearing my Arctic Armor... So I was good a cozy.
  4. To Scrubbing Bubbles that is. I tried it out on my bike yesterday, it left spots on my vents and streaks on black lower portions of my side covers. I scrubbed like hell with some Armor All to get them off, but no luck. Looks as though I might have to do some painting.
  5. Just ordered this for my son. Thought I'd pass along the deal. I had ordered a black one last year from them and I love mine. Also got to donate a buck to Venture Riders!! 6. just kicking the idea around for wet weather gear and was looking for opinions. I know how varied the opinions on this site are, but still willing to risk it. AS I dont have any gear with body armor yet I am thinking of getting a 3 season jacket and pants set with body armor. Either that or use Frogg toggs over my leather gear that I presently own. Chaps and jacket no armor. All opinions are welcome as my mind isn't made up yet. Thanks for any input in advance. David
  7. I just received, a couple days ago my purchase from New Enough. I bought the Venture Air Mesh pants and Intake Air Series 2 Jacket. I am very pleased with New Enough's prices and shipping. Ordered it on Friday morning, got it on Tuesday. Also very pleased with my selection. Both jacket and pants have windproof/waterproof layer and a quilted insulated liner, as well as multiple sections of Armor and padding. The liners can be utilized together or seperately in any configuration or they can we worn without any liners. Its really working well for me as I can wear the liners when I leave at 3:30am for work, 55 degrees and then ride home with just the mesh when its reached 80+. If I had any complaint I guess it would be that the items do not store very compactly. I have to take the jacket in because it won't compress down small enough to fit in the bags or trunk along with the other things I carry. This wasn't a problem with my leathers. It seems to be the Armor that is causing the issue. So here is my question: Does the Armor really add significant protection or could you take it out? Thanks for the info/opinions in advance. Jay
  8. I just bought 2 of these jackets. 1 XL for me and 1 WLG for the wife. For anyone looking for a great 3 season all weather jacket, I would highly recommend it. Honda of east Toledo has them at their ebay store for $239 which is the cheapest I could find it anywhere. They list for $299. New Enough has them for $269. I got ours from Honda of east Toledo and would recommend doing business with them. Here's a link and no I do not have any financial interest in them or Firstgear.-Jack http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FIRSTGEAR-Kilimanjaro-4-0-Jacket-BK-GY-LGT_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6750QQihZ017QQitemZ270186931871QQtcZphoto Here's a rundown on the Jacket. The Kilimanjaro 4.0 jacket is the fourth generation in a jacket that has been a favorite among commuters and touring riders for years. The main things that set this jacket apart are the full-coverage 3/4 length design and the extensive storage built into the jacket. A 3/4 length style like this can provide great coverage from the elements, especially in cold weather. The main zipper of the jacket is “two way” meaning you zip it up normally from the bottom, but you can also raise a second zipper slider from the bottom which will help with comfort when sitting on a bike in the riding position (you’ll know what I’m trying to say when you try it out). The storage system on this jacket is fantastic. I count at least seven pockets, including large cargo storage pockets on front that have little organizing features built in as well. Plenty of room for all your touring needs. For cold weather, you get a removable full-sleeve thermal liner. The liner is a great design since it serves as a light casual jacket when removed. This dual-purpose capability is handy for those with limited packing space. Take the “View Larger Pictures” link above to see what I mean about the liner design. When the weather warms up, you can leave the liner out and use the zippered vents (two in front and one in back). For crash protection, you get a full set of CE approved armor. The armor is a combination of firm plastic covered in a soft foam material. It’s very substantial and should provide good protection in case of a fall. The back armor is a soft flexible “memory foam” type armor.
  9. I just bought and received my Tour Master Caliber Pants. My first impressions are they're great. There are several pluses here. 1. Even though I have alarge waist they had a pair that fit and had legs short enough. I bought the 42-44 waist with 33 inch inseam. This means They don't drag on the ground like other brands I tried on at that waist size. 2. They have adjustable position knee armor. I was able to adjust the knee armor up a few inches and they are now positioned perfectly on my knees. Other brands that I tried the knee armor was around my ankles. 3. The zipper in the back for attaching the pants to your jacket matches up to my Mossi jacket. 4. With the thermal liners in there is no way I will be cold. 5. They are waterproof. I bought them from http://www.newenough.com for a steal plus free shipping! http://www.newenough.com/tour_master_caliber_pants_page.htm I'll report back after I actually get to ride with them. Next weekend we are doing a 900 mile trip and it may get real cold.
  10. OK , Here is a fix if you are tired of having to shine with that Armor all all the time , On my 86 I used some mop and glow on the cockpit panels and the black parts of the bike (except tires ) And it shines like a new penny!....Doesnt collect or hold dust, not sticky ,and I believe it seals the plastic, I also used it on the black part of the radiator cover.....Fred
