My rear tire lost a chunk approx 8 to 10" long today! My wife and I were on the interstate at approx 70ish when I felt her go! I pulled over right away and once my wife told me what was wrong, she rode home with a fellow rider and since it lost no air, I puttsed it home max 25mph for approx 10 miles. Now I don't know What to do. We plan on converting to a Trike this winter, so I don't want to buy a new tire, but I also don't want to stop riding for the year! I'd really like to get a used tire for next to nothing, just to ride the rest of the season. I know that an Angel was looking over us and kept the tire from blowing completely! We could've very easily have gone down. I plan to take a pic and email it to Dunlop, for wat it is worth. They are 2 years old with Im guessing 10K on them, so I'm sure Dunlop won't care, but I am going to send the Pic anyway. This should never happen. Craigr

This is just a sample of yesterday's sea of chrome. It was the "Miracle Ride for Special Olympics" held at the Polo Grounds in Farmington , CT. Some are saying approx. 10,000 people!! You had better remember where you left your bike!! O.K., I've heard back from CarbKit Capital regarding the 1st gen. slider kits, here is their response: "For stock at the moment we have: 20-6026 - Approx 18 20-6032 - Approx 30 It does not change the price. The best I can do is $60.00 each. Please gather some figures and then get back to me so that I can see how many people would actually be purchasing for the price quoted." So, we need to know if there are enough people looking for the slider kits to make it worth their while to give us this price. The 1983-1985 models require part # 20-6032, and the 1986-1993 models require part # 20-6026. Please respond here and advise home many individual units ( one diaphragm with slider ) you would want for that price, and if so, which part # you need.

For those of you that use a brake modulator on the RSV, is one more popular than others? I'm thinking of getting one, along with an RMark LED Brake/Running Light Bar. I see the Kisan Tailblazer is approx $80...also saw one from Comagination.com for approx $30. Just wondering what most people use...thanks for the info...JR

My '85 VR is pretty stubborn about wanting to leak a little from its rear valve cover, no matter how hard I plead with it. Is that fix more trouble than it's worth if the leak amounts to approx. a thimble full after parking from an all day ride (with the understanding that it ALSO leaks some DURING the ride)? I can do the job, I just don't know how crazy it would be.

Seems after riding awhile and I come to a stop, the engines ideling high (without a tach it's hard to tell but from experience) it seems to be at approx 3k. It will drop down after sitting a minute or so or when it's still cold (and yes the choke is completely in). Bikes still under warrantee so is this something I should have them fix or even worth the time being a normal thing? Thanks, Ride safe and God Bless. Mike

The bike was down for approx. 4 mo. while I decided if I was going to ride again and also fixing all of the broken plastic. I did start it probably twice a month during that time. Now that it is all glued back together and ready to ride, it doesn't want to run for approx. 15 to 20 minutes after starting. It seems that after the motor gets a little heat in it, it seems to even out and will idle pretty smoothly. I have run about 1/4 can of Seafoam in the first full tank, but haven't run it all out yet. It starts good, but needs to have the choke on quite a while. Also, I get a strong smell of gasoline while riding. Does this sound like carb problems, or possibly something else? Any help will be appreciated. Don H.
