Hello everyone. I am curious to know how many members are part of or were former members of AMA and or ABATE as well as any other organizations. I am interested in knowing your take, your experience both pros and cons. I am pretty naive at this point regarding the benefits and or pitfalls of these organizations. So if you can comment please do so as to why you like or prefer to no longer be associated with memberships. Just for the record, I am not a covert spy or deep undercover in a sting operation Just some newbie trying to make sense of all the options. I have never been part of any organization and was wondering if I should rethink my position. I am sure you guys/gals will not disappoint with your replies. Thanks again.

Which one of you grumpy, old crusty farts wrote the letter to American Motorcyclist (AMA magazine) complaining about those young whippersnappers ruining the riding world? Actually, it was a good letter with valid points (with a picture of a beautiful Venture). However, the first reading of the letter had kind of a 'git off my lawn' tone. After reading it again, he was right. RR

I decided to keep my Midnight Venture, and buy me a Honda RC51. for when my friends and I go away for the day. Maybe by the end of next week..I will pick it up....The RC51 won the AMA and World Superbike crowns. Top speed around 200 MPH http://gaspipe.smugmug.com/photos/361483892_y7axq-L.jpg

Does anyone belong to the AMA? i was looking at the member benefits & was wondering what experiences our members here have had with them. comments would be appreciated from current, ex members or hearsay of said experiences. anyone ever have to use it? i just renewed my AMA membership, and this was an option that was free if i renewed online ( which i was going to do anyhow! ) just curious about it. I tried to search ama roadside assistance, but the forum wouldn't allow the AMa portion. Got a good deal of info about yamaha roadside, though! thanks in advance, guys.

Is it worth the $39.00 a year to join the AMA, do the benefits pay for themselves, they mention discounts at dealers, is the mag any good, is the insurance discounted much?............curious minds want to know....
