Starting on Oct. 1st, Barb and I will be travelling with some friends, heading west from Illinois and ending up in Albuquerque in time for the Balloon Fiesta. Our daughter lives in Albuquerque, and we were out there last year for the Fiesta. We live in northern Illinois, and our friends live in the southern tip, so it'll probably be best for us to meet near St. Louis, and head west to Colorado Springs. I've already decided that I want to ride through Wolf Creek Pass (again), and then like C.W. Mcall says in the song, end up in downtown Pagosa Springs, and from there we'll travel down to Sante Fe, and into Albuquerque. Something else I'd like to do is to ride up Pikes Peak. Is this too late in the year to think of doing that on a bike, or is there a posibilty that the freshly paved road up will be snow free? Any other suggestions of things to do in south west Colorado? We went to Sante Fe & Los Alamos last year, but our friends have never stopped there, so that's a stop we'll take. Also in the plans are to ride south from Albuquerque and visit Roswell. Anybody know of anything else to see in New Mexico?? Frank D.

Maybe I'll see another VR rider in the area. Not much luck running into another VR rider in this area that is a member, but I post anyway. A few of us will be riding from Albuquerque NM to the Vietnam Memorial in Angel Fire NM the Saturday. From there plans are to ride to Red River for the MC Rally. Mid afternoon we will split up and a few will return to Albuquerque and a few will continue to ride. We will ride North into Colorada and west over Wolf Creek Pass to spend the night in Durango. Sunday will be spent riding the loop to Silverton, Ridgway, Telluride, and back to Durango. We will be attending the Bar D Wrangler BBQ just north of Durango for Dinner and then DQ for ice cream. Monday will be the ride Back to Albuquerque by way of Pagosa Springs CO, Chama NM, Tres Predas and Taos. Hope to see someone in the VR family if your in the area. Shamue

Looks like I'm headed for Arizona to look see about a bike. If I decide to get said bike I would be riding out on the 10th to about Albuquerque or maybe Santa Fe. Would like to know if anyone has any good riding tips, maybe construction warnings or heads up, from Phoenix to Albuquerque and on. Also, any recommendations for a cheap but decent hotel not to far off of I40 or I25. Looking at taking the highway all the way cause I just don't have the time to sight see. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Joyce's brother passed away this week. Please keep her and his family in your thoughts and prayers as they deal with their loss. Funeral arrangements will be: visitation Thursday April 8th from 4-8pm funeral services will be Friday 9th at 10am At the moment I only have the funeral homes name - French's Funeral Home located somewhere in Albuquerque, N.M. 1111 University Blvd N E, Albuquerque, NM, 87102 I'm assuming he'll have a military funeral as he spent 20 years in the Air Force. The highlight of his career there was a stint with Air Force One Larry
