It is windy and feels like 17°F. Snow tomorrow. It will be in the mid 20's for a high for the next 2 or 3 days. This afternoon, I plugged my RSV battery on trickle charge. http://tapatalk.imageshack.com/v2/15/01/05/72ff461ad8047aba8010ff8e039022f7.jpg

Got to use my Christmas present for the 1st time. Borrowed a Carbon_One adapter from a member here in town. Swapped out my rear shock this afternoon. Haven't ridden it yet, but seems the bounce is gone.

Marita and I went to Arcade and spent Sunday afternoon with Bob (bongobobny) and Becky. we spent part of the afternoon riding the old steam train to Attica and back and then the other part eating at the The Hearth Restaurant, across from pioneer motor sports. Sorry Carl but you are no longer exclusive, Marita has now met and liked another Venturerider couple and on top of that I think Marita thought Bob was better looking ........Then you, NOT ME. so don't even think it. The weather was cold and wet, but the friendship very warm and the We both enjoyed riding the train. BTW Wayne I have something for you, I sent you a PM

Well, I have 8 states of BBQ left to fulfill my Smoke Chasing requirement. http://www.teamstrange.com/2011/scgt/ Been lazy about it all summer, and now I need to finish it up this weekend. Heading out Friday afternoon and hitting an early dinner at Dickey's BBQ Pit in Davenport, IA and a late night snack at the Dr. of BBQ in Springfield, IL. Sat. breakfast at Ray's in West Memphis, AR, lunch at Central BBQ in Memphis, TN, and afternoon snack at BBQ By Jim in Tupelo, MS. Early dinner will be at Jacks in Florence. AL, with the late night meal at Jack's in Nashville, TN. Sunday morning will start with breakfast at BBQ Inn, Bowling Green, KY and a quick lunch at Wolf's BBQ in Evansville, IN. Friday night will be staying somewhere south of St Louis, Saturday night somewhere between Nashville and Bowling Green. Streets and Trips shows it at 1770 miles. Shouldn't have any difficulty with the mileage as long as I can keep the... ahhem..rest stops to a minimum. Should be at Central BBQ at noon on Saturday if anybody would care to join me. I won't be staying to chat much after the meal, but would enjoy meeting some of the southern contingent. And, yes, I realize there are 9 BBQ Joints on the list. Never know if one is closed. RR

The Dealer says I need steering head bearings which is over 4 hours labour at $85 per hour plus the kit. The bike only has 65,000 so I"m wondering if perhaps they are just loose. I'm going to look into that this afternoon. But if I need some work on it........I've got Dingy's wrench But I need a "how to". I found a tutorial for 2nd Gen by Freebird...but couldn't find anything on a 1st Gen (mkII) ....could anyone let me know if there is a how to on REPLACING or Greasing the steering bearings?

North Atlanta Trade center... I had hoped to set up a meet and eat and ride to this event, but things have been nuts at my house / work lately (not a bad thing, just a thing). Anyway, anyone else planning on going tomorrow? Supposed to be sunny and low 60's in the afternoon. The wife and I are planning on going for a while in the afternoon. A link to the venue-show

We've been in Branson since Thursday and decided to take a drive down to Eureka Springs today. Only thing that would have made it better is if I had my bike.

I'll be coming into Kingsport on the bike either on Friday afternoon or Saturday afternoon. Starting on Sunday evening I'll be there to work a few days. Just wondering if anyone lives close and wants to try a dinner get together. I'll be staying at the Jameson inn. Also, any suggestions on roads to ride in the area would be appreciated.

jac offerd a pair of Diamond R passenger hwy pegs up for sale at a great price. He claimed they were in great shape and since I had been considering getting a set for the boss, I jumped on them. Sent the paypal Sunday afternoon but for some reason (probably my fault) it didnt take the shipping fee. I got that sent out Monday AM. Got home from work Tuesday afternoon and there they were. Wow! That was fast. Not only fast, I dont see a scratch or blemish anywhere. Not what I expected for a used part. Thanks Jac!

After a couple weeks of mostly cold weather, it looks like friday is going to be pretty nice for January. Any one want to take a 2-3 hour afternoon ride? Maybe meet up at Moto400 at 11, have lunch and then ride?

Well first off no my electric is fine, no water leaks and no I didn't get anything else in my ear. Though this one would have hurt pretty good. I opened the door this afternoon and saw a snake at my door. So I slammed the door shut and try to look out the window to see what sort it is. Can't see the head but it looks like a black snake. But of course with my luck it's better to be safe then sorry and driving to the emergency room for antivenin. I search the house to see if there's anything I can use to get rid of this critter, can't find anything. Look back out no snake on the porch, wonder where it went. I found it on the table outside the window. Now on the upside it's definitely a black snake. Still don't want to get bit though. So I get my stuff together and head out the door only to see no snake. Now I'm wondering where it went again. So I carefully head to the car making sure it's just dirt under my feet. Don't know where the snake is but I guess the temps of 80 made it nice enough to come out today. Of course tomorrow it's gonna be back in the 60's so I shouldn't see it again. Mind you none of the cats that hang out in my yard were anywhere to be seen. At least they could show up when I need them. They will go after snakes I've watched them do it before. Just evidently not when I'm trying to come out of the house. Oh I didn't use the gun cause I have cinder blocks for a porch that would have been messy. Figured I'd share to give you all a nice laugh. Mind you I didn't laugh when I first opened the door and saw the snake. Margaret

I wanted to let everyone know that I had a nice telephone visit with Pastor Paul this afternoon. He told me that his problem was discovered as a result of having pneumonia twice in the last six months in his left lung, so they performed a scan and discovered the mass, which is the size of two fists. He goes into surgery (5-8 hours) on Tuesday at 10 AM, so please be thinking about him, especially at that time. He and Toni have gone camping tonight, originally to have some alone time. However, some of his local friends and associates found out about it and now there's a small crowd there. He says the more the merrier, so for anyone that might be in the area, they are staying at Points West Military Recreation Area at Clarke's Hill Lake (outside Augusta GA), in camping area #2. You are welcome and encouraged to ride over tomorrow to say hello and wish Paul well. Paul asked me to let everyone know how grateful and appreciative he is for all the well-wishes expressed on the Forum. I will update the other post Tuesday afternoon, once I hear from Toni about the outcome of the surgery. My thanks, as well, to all of you... TERRY
