OK folks, who out there has installed a 3000 on an RSV and what do you think of it. Any noticeable difference? How does it affect power and mpg? And key question, is it worth the money?

Once again I am faced with dreaded electrical issues. After successfully upgrading my fuse box (Thanks Skydoc and GeorgeS) I was feeling confident to tear apart the dash and replace all dash light bulbs and solder CMU (in way over my head with the CMU now) anyway I notice some of the bulbs are very dim and burn for a bit when key is first turn on but then flicker out. I have turned the dimmer knob up and down and although it does affect the bulbs that are lit normal it does not affect the dim lit bulbs. I would think if there was a bad ground all the bulbs would be affected, but I am far from knowing electrical issues. On a side note, anyone know of a good soldering person here in WA state? I have CMU out and apart but I am not sure I see any issues. But the battery light jumper wire MOD is not working and the gear indicator will go in and out on occasion. But other than those two issues the digital display works fine. http://i906.photobucket.com/albums/ac264/bobandlou3/Dash_Bulb.jpg

I'm planning a trip from San Antonio to Springfield IL at the end of May. I will be in Illinois for about a week and I am concerned because the last time I was there the only gas I remember included ethynol. My question(s) is/are...is there regular gas available in Illinois? If not, does using the ethynol mix negatively affect our engines? Sure appreciate any help on this. Thanks in advance. Jim T

I ride a great deal with groups (mixed bikes) with Coast Riders. I have noticed several riders who will have a beer (just one) at lunch time. There are a couple who will have more than one. I am thinking of suggesting that the Club adopt a strict "No alcohol while riding" policy. I am certainly not against drinking in the afternoon/evening when finished riding for the day. Also, I know we are all adults, and should be able to decide for ourselves whether or not a single beer would affect riding judgment. My concern is that somebody might drink more than they should. A pint of a stronger beer, is quite different from a can of American beer (sorry, couldn't resist). Also to be considered is the health, age, body size and several other factors that would affect the way a rider reacts to that "one drink". People can make their own decisions if they are riding on their own. But it seems to me that there is a greater risk when riding at some speed in a group, and when there is only one second between you and two other bikes. Yes, staggered formation... but that stagger doesn't make much difference when something happens quickly. Any of you belong to a Club with such a policy? Any thoughts or suggestions? Cheers!

Hey all, I'm thinking of taking off the Cylinder Head Covers, and having them powdercoated, and I figured since it's liquid-cooled, it shouldn't affect heat dispersion too much... Anyone have any input on why I shouldn't move forward with this idea?

I know there was a thread on this in 08 but just wondering if anyone has diabetes, does it affect your riding, how do you handle it?

I pulled the pipes off of my 85 Venture Royale, and i put the tips for the pipes sticking outward from where the pipes should be. Dad thinks that its bad for it, but i think that since its going through the catalytic converter, it shouldn't make any difference. Having the pipes off didn't really affect performance so what do you think?

I just came back from a nice ride South on State Route 43 in Ohio. We went from Malvern thru Carrollton and down to Amsterdam. There are some really nice twisties in the 47 mile round trip and all were equipped with tar snakes. I happy to report that conditions were such that the snakes were of no consequence to affect riding at all. The temperature was 75 plus and the snakes were all older ( as in not recent) but I couldn't feel them at all. I starting to REALLY like my KUMHO !!

The wide grip bars are playing hell on my neck. Does anyone have any recomendations for a narrower set of bars that won't affect performance? I was wondering if a set of Venture bars would work? Any ideas?
