Nina & I are going to Vegas in Feb next year (8th-11th) I've read a few old threads here about some of the things to do, see, eat at, etc and have cruised Google for attractions etc. Looking for input from anyone on neat things to check out / do while there that may be somewhat "unadvertised" ... or for that matter, anything you might want to suggest. Also looking for advise on what not to do/watch out for ... such as "small brown people shoving business card in my face for other types of slot machines" (a quote from Redneck's post in 2009)

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post a question about a shop or person in Dallas/Fr worth that works on 1st Gen VR but I need to find a good shop or person within 100 miles of DFW that knows what they are doing. Carb work mostly. Appreciate any advise, help or clues on how to find a repair place for my 92 VR which has several issues. Thanks Roger

Has anyone bought gold lately? I never have, but am thinking about it. Maybe anywhere from 10-20 ozs. Like many other buyers it would be a hedge against run-away inflation. Comments would be welcome. I'd rather hear advise from members on this board than some self serving dealer that I don't know from Adam....

This stuff is really amazing and easy to use, but man does it stink until it dries! Strongly advise to mix and use it in a very well ventilated area. http://www.plast-aid.com/video/Introducing_PlastAid_BB.mov

I have a big trip planned to ride from Atlanta GA to Vancouver Island, I need to arrive there on May 8th.. I am sure some of the roads I would like to travel will be good and I am planning to try to do as much back roads as possible. I am a little concerned about the mountain passes primarily due to snow but I can avoid most places if I have to.. I was kind of planning on camping a couple of nights then hosteling/hotelling it the other nights.. I was thinking I would need to leave about April 30th to May 1st to get there by the 9th.. My plan is to Ride from Atlanta to Seattle WA then take a Ferry to Vancouver Island Never done a solo trip like this before so I appreciate any good advise from my fellow riders.. I have new tires, Heated riding gear, a good saddle and my bikes been serviced so I have all the gear I think I need just need some good routes going North West that I can ride that will keep me covering the country in an efficient time frame Thanks for your help and tips Stewart (Twowheelsonly) UPDATED INFO TO ORIGINAL MESSAGE Proposed Ride Route I have ridden 500 to 700 miles per day with not too much problems.. I usually need a 3rd day to rest up so I can probably knock off a couple of hundred miles on that day, I plan to ride the super slab if I need to catch up on my time, subject to weather or other delays, I have tentatively picked back roads that travel through or by the following cities: Atlanta to Nashville TN, to St. Louis, to Kansas City MO, to Denver CO, to Cheyenne, to Jackson WY to Idaho Falls ID, to Spokane WA to Seattle to Victoria BC I have traveled the CA and coast routes in a cage many times.. I think I will plan a southern trip next year to see the southern states.. I appreciate the input and advise! Stewart (Twowheelsonly)

Hi, I saw the nice job that Lepapehermann did with the turntable that he built. Does anyone else built one? How did it go? Any tips or advise that I should know before starting? Or does anyone using a different model/type? Gaétan

With all the intelligent people on here who posted insatallation instructions, I thank you. I feel confident to take this project on. The advise I need is Halogen or sealed beam. What is the major difference. Also, I plan on running a fuse box. If I do this, should I still use a relay. I received a gift card for christmas and plan on getting them this week, but I want to check the prices at the bike show first. Thanks to everyone who contributes and saves me money at the stealership.

First, a little background. I ride a first gen. Mark 2, and I've racked up a respectiable number of miles, riding one up, with full luggage and camping trailer. I don't ride fast or agressively, and prefer secondary scenic, when possible. Currently running Elite 3's. My life changed, when I found a lady who wants to share the experience. I should mention that we are both in our 70's, and not as spry and goofy as we once were. Also, our combined weight is 390 and falling (dieting). I recently added a Voiger Conversion, for stability and ease of trailer towing. I'm now looking for advise and suggestions, pros or cons, related to switching to car tires, both front and rear. What car tire size is recommended? What modifations are required or suggested? Looking forward to continuing the journey and would appreciate any input. Thank you, for your time and help. In June, my wife and I along with another couple will be taking a vacation to ride the Blue Ridge Parkway and Sky Line Dr. There will be 2 bikes and both will be towing a trailer. We are planning on leaving GA traveling north on freeways to Virginia, do some white water rafting and then head over to the northern most end of Sky Line Dr. We want to head south on Sky Line Dr into the Blue Ridge Parkway continuing on BRP to the southern end. This is where I am asking for advise: How many days should I plan to be on SLD & BRP? We want to go at a casual pace enjoying the views and photo opportunities. Also, does anyone know of any "must see" things and places along the way? All advise will be appreciated! I know it's a little early for this because June is a long time off but we need to know how many days vacation requests to put in for.

The wife and I are thinking about a road trip to northern NM for a September get away. We are planning stops in Toas and Santa Fe, then maybe heading north to Pagosa Springs CO. If anyone has a favorite road, restaurant, town or hotel we would love to hear your advise or opinions. We will have five or six days to just explore the area and take in all the wonderful scenery.

We have decided to ride the RSV to Sturgis from our home in Cincinnati. We will be riding west on I-74,to I-80, to I-380, to I-35 to I 90. We will be camping and I was wondering if anyone along those routes could advise on campgrounds. We also need to know if anyone knows of a good campground in eastern Wyoming. I would appreciate any help on this. No we do not have a trailer, we are going to rough it. YamaMama:thumbsup2:

Just curious; has anyone installed LED accent lights on your lst Edition VR? If so, how many and the color did you add? Also where did you add the accent lights and are they connected directly to the battery or???? I am considering such an install but ask for opinions and advise, if there are any. The bike is pretty close to being in original condition and thought this accessory might add style and or improve visibility. B/r

Four of us are headed to eastern Tenn. in late June for a six day vacation in the great Smokey Mts. This will be our first extended motorcycle tour and the first time to the area. My wife and I will be on our 08 RSV and our friends are taking thier 08 GLwing with a piggybacker. I would like to hear some about your favorite towns, sites, motels, resturants and twisty roads. Any advise on things to avoid would be welcome as well. Thanks for your help.

I am going to be heading to Billings Montana for Star Days, leaving July 17th returning July 26th. I am "soliciting" possible routes to get there and head back (I would like to go there one route, come back another route) - planning three days to go there - 3 days to come back. Any ideas? While in Billings, we will ride the Beartooth, and probably hit Yellowstone with the group I am taking back there. Also, what type of weather issues might I run into that week? I have heard conflicting reports - great weather (could get warm) to hail / thundershower activity. I'm . Thanks for any suggestions and advise.
