    OK, so one more go at the 1st Gen Transmission issues: My 84 with 51.000km is popping out of second, into neutral, when accelerating under load. I double shift up into 3rd and it keeps going fine... just know it's going to get worse not better. So, here's my question for the PROs out there - can I swap out the transmission from a 1998 1300cc bike in and mate it up to my 84 1200cc engine? I found an 89 with a messed up engine which I can get for cheap... seems a lot of the newer bike is in better shape than mine so I'm thinking of stripping it and using some parts... primary is the transmission though. WILL THIS WORK? Is it worth doing? I'm not looking forward to rebuilding my transmission... and having it go again in 40,000km... Thanks EVERYONE.
