I'm am wanting to install a CB on the 83 Venture I just bought. I have all the parts and cables but I need the upper right side fairing piece for an 86VR where the CB and Class controllers mount. It has the hinged access for the overflow bottle. If anyone has one available I sure would like to buy it. You can contact me at ama-dist45@comcast.net The other option would be to mount it in the original place for an 83 but I can't find any pictures for the location. Happy trails, Barlow

As most of you know, I have been Laid Off from Lockheed/Martin for the last 11 plus months and I have been working on bikes to keep my head above water. Well, I took my first big gulp of H2O this afternoon when I watched my 86'VR go home with it's new owner and my pride and joy, my 86' V65 Magna being trailered off. What with regular bills, Taxes, and now heating oil, i sorta' got backed into a corner. I am pretty much blowing out prices on items I have from my shop that I kept in stock to service the many members that have come to "My little shop by the creek" I have First and Second Gen. R1 Caliper Swap kits in the classifieds as well as First Gen. Stock calipers for sale. All have been rebuilt and can be shipped with or without pads. It looks like it is going to be a long winter here in Pa. and if any of my ads interest you, please let me know. http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php/product/2445/cat/500 http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php/product/2446/cat/500 http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php/product/2443/cat/500 http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php/product/2330/cat/500 http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php/product/2333/cat/500 To all of the VR.ORG members that have given me the privilege to work on your bikes I am grateful, as is my family. Without knowing it, you have fed my family and kept the lights on! I have attached a pic of each of the two bikes that are now gone. My Stable is looking pretty "thin" these days. Thanks for all that you have done, Earl

Boy Guys and Gals, I could really use some help on this one! I am an IDIOT when it comes to electric problems! I had the 86'VR in the garage to replace the starter solenoid and after the work, the headlight will not come on when I turn on the key. No low beam or high beam. So far I have checked the fuse (good) and sprayed contact cleaner in the ignition switch with no good results. PLEASE help me!!! Earl

On the 86'VR it appears that the starter solenoid has gone "belly up" on me. If I take a screw driver and jump across the two terminals on the solenoid the bike will start, Does anyone have one laying around for a 86 to 93 VR. Also, where in the heck does that small wire go to from the solenoid?!?! It just seems to disappear into the bowells of the frame. I would be grateful for any help I could get on this issue, As you all know, I can turn a wrench pretty good but Electric matters are Greek to me! Thanks Folks, Earl

Can anybody post a picture or give me a thread link showing me where the rectifier is located on my 86VR?

Does anyone know if there is a place where I a list of parts compatability between different VR year models? I am looking for a windscreen for a 83vr 1200 and am wondering if one off a 86VR 1300 would work. I also need a battery. Does anyone know where I could get a descent one for a descent price? Thanks, Clay

As some know from my "I'm Popeye the Traitor Man..." post, I sold my 86VR & got a 97 Wing cuz nav just didn't trust the 86 anymore, after 4 breakdowns....even though I put in $2500. to fix. Well, the 86VR has been in my garage ever since, but today, a truck came & took it away, too. On its way to Germany. They have a HUGE European Venture Club, from there to Norway. It's Gone ! Now I got that 'final' feeling. I wasn't looking for a Wing, but came on a deal that only a fool would pass. We've only rode it 40 miles so far, due to weather & work [& no insurance]. It had really better be a good scoot. I'll have to change my gallery pics when I figure this Vista thing out.
