Looking to talk to 86-93 Venture owner. [not someone selling one] I am thinking about buying one and would like to talk and look at one in my area. I am located in Stockbridge, Mich. Between Lansing and Ann Arbor. If you can help me , that would be appreciated. I am willing to travel to your place or will meet where you want. I currently own a BMW and two Guzzis. [can you ever have too many sickles?] Anyway, I think I want a touring bike and these bikes interest me. Please feel free to call [517] 851-7402 Mornings are best. Weekends I'm riding, but I'm always home for dinner. Or you can e-mail me here. Thanks, James

On the way back from MD my radio crapped out. Stopped at rest area to look and antenna was draging behind me. Broke off the rack. Question is what racks fit?? 85- 93??86-93?? or 83-93?? Ithink it is 86-93 but wanted to check. Several on fle-Bay right now. Just missed one for 109 bucks forgot to bid. Maybe he will relist it. It was 86 pretty sure that would fit my 86.....

Hi folks. I'm looking for a used air control grill that goes into the left side plastic engine cover for my 86 Venture Royale. Should be the same for 86-93 I think. Not sure when it happened, but I discovered it was all cracked up inside. Some of the flaps are missing, and some are broken. Even a damaged one will do. Maybe I can make one out of two with some Plastex. I checked on Ebay, and didn't see one at the moment.

Does anyone have access to a readable copy of the 90-93 wiring schematic. The one that is in the 86-93 service manual is unreadable. I am nearing completion of redrawn schematics for the 86-93 models similar to the one I did for the 83-85 models. I can see that the three major changes to the 90-93 is the pick up coil change, fuel pump control relay & TCI unit. I need a readable schematic to get wire colors correct. Gary

Does anyone know where I could purchase a new seat covering for a 86-93 first gen? Are the available or do I need to take it out to a shop to be recovered?

I just purchased my 83 VR and the class controller is busted. I found one for a 86-93 VR and was wondering if it was interchangable? Please help.

Does a Markland hitch off an 84 fit on a 1987 VR? There is an 84 takeoff on eBay and I have been looking for a hitch for my 87. Anybody have one they want to sell? Thanks

Why are 86-93 VENTURES considered 1st generation Ventures ? Shouldn’t they be considered 2nd gen’s and the 99 and newer models be called 3rd gen’s? After all the 83-85 bike had smaller saddlebags and only 1200cc motors VS. 1300 cc’s and larger bags on 86-93. And as I understand it there are more items that are different than just motor and bags on the 83-85 and the 86-93 models. So why do we do this?

Is the superbrace for 86-93 the same for 83-85? Thanks, Dale

My question for you hardcore knowledge guys. What makes the 83-85 faster? I'm looking at the carbs the only difference I know of 83 carbs had 42.5 pilot jets a 180 air jets all the rest of the years have 84-93 have 37.5 pilots and 170 air jets. So does that mean 84-85 are slower the 86-93? I read something about possible hotter cam. Slightly lighter weight 83-85 then 86-93. 86-93 has 100 more CC's. So whats the deal? (I put the original pilot and air jets in my 90 from 83 I gotta say I like it no more popping actually get a noticeable rpm change when adjusting pilot mixtures.)

If you had your choice to buy a low mileage first gen what would it be? Some love the 83-85 models with 1200 engine and removable bags. Others like the 86-93 models, larger bags,1300 engine, with all the royal bells and whistles. I have both and there great bikes. A low mileage first gen is a great find.
