I have just recieved the Dyna 3000 ign mod, kit # D3K7-3 from ATV Galaxy. My question is, has anyone else installed this module and if so are there any particular settings for the 8 pins on the back. I see the ones for the rev limiter ( it recomends 5000rpm) but do I need to touch the advance and retard pins. Any instruction/advice would be appreciated. Thanks Ian

Ever since I bought my bike it's had Samson pipes on it that are on the LOUD side, I pulled them off and put the stock pipes back on and now can hear the engine and road noise Things sure are quiet! I do have a little chirp coming from the clutch area, I don't think it's the whine so many complain about. Were planning about 3000 miles with the International Rally being the start and thought it would be nice to actually hear the radio and CB without having to wear ear plugs all the time.

My 83 is sluggish and seems to be short on fuel at the lower RPM's It starts to take off and accerlerate at around 2500 and once at 3000 hang on. It idles good and all 4 pipes warm up evenly. It seems to get better as the day goes on. I am doing the sea foam in the fuel and plan on a carb sync. Any other suggestions??

OK folks, who out there has installed a 3000 on an RSV and what do you think of it. Any noticeable difference? How does it affect power and mpg? And key question, is it worth the money?

Any opinions on what is the best advance curve to use with a Dynatek 3000 ignition. And why? It's for a 2008 Venture with a 3.66 Vmax differential. Thanks in 'advance' for your replies. Mike

What's everyone running for engine oils and final drive oils, I can't see paying a dealer to do this every 3000 miles. I'm going to and do most maint. myself. Thanks

Dyna 3000 ignition and warranty?
SpaceMan posted a topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Hi: Has anyone ever asked (or told) their dealer about installing the dyna 3000 and whether or not there were any warranty issues with this? Normally,.. I may just go ahead and install something like this but I have had some warranty issues recently and received some comments from Yamaha that led me to believe something like this may void the warranty. -
i read this forum and see guys getting 35mph+ mile per gallon some getting close to 40. i have a 07 rstd with 3000 miles and i can only get 30mpg on a good day. do they not go over 55mph? any help?

Thanks you RandyA and Squeeze your suggestions helped. My speedometer was off by 10 mph it dead on at higher speeds now at lower ones its just slightly off now. RandyA your speedometer fix worked very well my speedos pretty accurate now. Squeeze thanks for your suggestion on replacing the clutch pressure plate bearing I had a serious whine at all RPMS but now I just have it at 3000 rpm so for most of my ride if I stay off of 3000 rpm I no longer have the whine. Thanks to both of you.

I found a half can of lubriplate 3000 (3% moly) in the shop. Any reason it wouldn't be good enough for drive shafts??? Hate to toss anything if its got any good to it. And I've seen this stuff in a covered but not sealed environment stay wet for 2 years.

I would get killed if I buy another one but found add last night in local trading rag that says 1300 Venture Royal new brakes, starter, carbs rebuilt, all the goodies 3200 miles Black Cherry 3000 bucks. Don't say what year and I hung up phone before they answered when I happened to think it was 2 in the morning.

Just curious if anyone on the site has done a before and after dyno run on their second generation Venture or Royal Star after adding some or all of the following items to improve the performance : 1. Aftermarket slip ons. 2. K&N or other less restrictive air filter. 3. Dyna 3000 or other ignition mod. 4. Jet Kit. I am sure that many people on the site have done some or all of the above and if you didn't confirm the results with a dyno run what did the seat of the pants feel indicate after the mods.

Well Jeff, here I am again..While I had the carbs out of Bertha, I took the opportunity to do some preventative maintenance I had been putting off. I replace the leaking valve cover gaskets and I had found a coolant hose collapsed. Also, it was time for new antifreeze. Carb. cleaning was uneventful after the screws were finally removed. Reassembly went reasonabley well, however it took me a long time to get the control cables hooked back up. Anyway, all is back together and I cannot get the bike to idle below 2500 to 3000 rpm. Is this a TCI problem? The bike ran a little ragged for about 10 miles, number two cylinder was cutting in and out, running rich and then spark knocking . Then the engine seemed to run better. Up jumped the idle. I have backed off the idle screw again and again to 1000 rpm, yet the idle rpm jumps back up after a short ride. I can find no hoses off anywhere. Have you had this problem before? Any ideas...anyone

:confused24:I was just wondering if those who have a dyna 3000 on their rsv have used the number 4 or 5 advance setting? I just installed it this weekend on the third setting and didn't want to take it all apart again to get to the dip switches if I didn't need to. I am currently running K&N filterrs with drilled out exhaust with 125 mains and 17.5 pilots. Or is setting 4 or 5 too much advance?
