I want to thank you in advance for any and all help. I recently purchased an '08 RSV with stock audio. I replaced the front speakers with Alpine 3way 4" speakers because one of the stock speakers was blown. I have 2 issues; 1) last week I lost the volume. Everything powers up and if I turn the volume all the way up I can barely hear it if the bike isnt running. Is the an amp or pre-amp that I need to fix/replace. Where should I start to look for the problem? 2) I would like to upgrade the sound system. Whats the best way to go with this? I've read some older posts about adding an amp under the faring. But on further research they were on the older bikes. Please help.

Would like to put a trunk on my 2008 RSTD. What kind and what size do you have?

I just purchased a new set of hearing aids, surprisingly, over the internet. If you don't mind, I would like to blog the hearing aids with you for awhile. The hearing aids have a 60 day 100% money back guarantee. I have just received the hearing aids today at 3pm, but I know the hearing aids shipped last Thursday (March 6th, 2008). The hearing aids were shipped via DHL next day, but I had to have the aids sent to work because I had no one at home to sign for the aids. So the aids sat on John Deere's shipping dock for a weekend . So to give myself a few days of cushion, I want to have these hearing aids fully vetted by May 1st, 2008. I want to break this up into several post to allow anyone who is interested to easily find the information they are looking for. I would like to start with my medical history.

G'day All; I notice that there was a thread on this subject where PGunn decided to try fitting Hypercharger Air Filter Units to his bike. This was back in 2008. Has anyone actually 'eliminated' the existing system and found a new, less 'Bulky' alternative as yet? Cheers, Paul.

OK, I'm going to put my 2008 venture S on the market. Need a little input as to asking price. It has about 12K, new Dunlop Elite 3s last summer. Still under warranty. Has Wagner Fiberglass grill cover. Bike is in excellent shape. Thanks for the input. Steve

Finally got to ride my new (to me) 2008 Venture today as the thermometer reached 56 degrees and the roads were free of ice and snow. a few questions.: 1. engine was not as smooth as my GL1500 (which was expected) but also not as smooth as my FJR with main complaint being a handlebar buzz at 80 mph. Is this typical? 2. I definitely need a tach. 3. how do I switch the radio from speakers to headphones? thx in advance for any help. mark in MN

Any opinions on what is the best advance curve to use with a Dynatek 3000 ignition. And why? It's for a 2008 Venture with a 3.66 Vmax differential. Thanks in 'advance' for your replies. Mike

I just bought my Midnight Venture this Monday. My girlfriend and I have decided to tour some with my parents next year. The issue that I am having that might not amount to much but I have not ever seen a motorcycle do this is: If the bike is cold and I go to start it, it will pull it's self up the drive way. I have always parked my bikes with them in gear for safety reasons and never had one do this. My dad said that he has heard of some bikes doing this if they set for long periods of time on a side stand but never had it happen or seen it happen. But this is every day so far, just the first time I start it for the day. Once it warms up it has no more issues. Please help, just need to know what to look for or if I need to take it back to the dealership to get looked at.

Steel Horse Cowboy is looking for a set of Roadhouse slip on 2 into 1 pipes for his 1999 Royal Star Venture. I have checked a few places and have come up with nothing so far. I would appreciate any help finding these. Thank You ..... C.R here is the Thread I started back in 2008. I did get them from Dennis Kirk. http://venturerider.org/forum/search.php?searchid=2399498&pp=25&page=3 It might be possible that they do not make them for your bike anymore. I am still looking though. My pipes came with the slash cut tips. I turned them to point down. Fuzzy

I am looking at re-jetting my 2008 Tour Deluxe. I'm interested in any info and experience anyone might have with this. What size main jets and needles to get and so-on. I have already put new idle jets in, which was a beautiful thing. I'm just looking to get a little more performance out of the bike, which is why I'm considering re-jetting it.

Just returned from Illinois with a 2008 RSV. Yamaha's are new to me as I've always been a GW rider until I got stupid and dumped mine off a 12 ft deep embankment, but I couldn't resist this bike when I found out it only had 1969 miles on it and the previous owner just needed to get out from under the payments. So far like a lot of posts I've read the biggest problem has been getting use to moving my feet forward instead of straight up. The other thing is the engine sounds a bit tinny to me compared to the 6 cyl wing, and doesn't have near the power. Other then those minor changes I love my RSV. I'll be making some changes to the lighting as soon as my pocketbook allows and possibly a seat upgrade. Thanks to everyone who has posted what they've done to improve this great machine. Hope to meet some other RSV riders who live around the DFW area. Until then keep the shiny side up. Jim

I've seen quite a few posts on how much air to use ect but can't find anything on how to let some of the air out of the shocks. Last couple times I just took the hose off the pump and let it out but that's kind of a pain. Anyone got an easier way? Thanks in advance. Oh by the way this is on a 2008 RSTD.

Check it out. http://www.1jesussaves.com I am currently working on all the horses in my stable. The 83 is about to get trimmed down a little and treated to a Flat Black paint job. the 88 is about to be finished (I hope) I am so ready to ride it. I have added a new little filly, a 2008 XV250. lots of fun to ride; but it just aint a Venture. it does get 65-70 MPG.
