Hi All, I have bought a 2004 Venture. I previously had Royal Start Boulevard. Here is some finding which I need to fix. Engine is knocking after replacing original oil and oil filter. Wobbles at pot holes or humps. I did correct the tire pressure too. Any Help will be appreciated. Will check for more and keep you all posted.

Did a U turn today and chased down a couple on a 2004 Midnight, they were not aware of the site so I gave them a card, hopefully they will join our big happy family. They seemed like nice folks which most Venture Riders seem to be there names are Chad and Tammy transplants from Minnesota.

Not bike related but no where else to turn that I trust. I've had my 2004 Grand Am in garage 3 times for slow leak. Was told it's because of the alloy wheels being damaged/corroded. Can I put innertubes in these? New wheels are too dang expensive to contemplate right now. Thanks and God Bless. Mike

Hi everyone, As I mentioned a few weeks ago, I purchased a new to me 2004 Royal Star Venture from a person in Calgary, Alberta. He is the second owner and when I asked him who he bought the bike from, he couldn't remember. I have an idea, but I'm not sure. I am just wondering on the off chance that someone in Calgary might know and be able to pass the information to me in a private email. All I want to know is if the bike ever had the valves and brake/clutch/ fuel filter changed. The bike has 52, 500 kilometers on it and I would like to know so I can get that scheduled to be done. The fluids all look clean so I am wondering. I realize it might be like looking for a needle in the haystack but I thought I would try. Thanks for your help. Chris in Red Deer, Alberta

I hope you enjoy the fresh deer meat I layed on your front lawn at 7:00 am this morning. It's a nice big one well tenderized to. Please remove the pieces of my front bumper,turn signal,headlight,grille,and fender from it's A## before consumption. 2004 Chevy Silverado parts don't taste very good. I feel like taking out about 20 more. If I'm gonna turn in a insurance claim might as well do a good job. Here's to Road Hunting in the Chevy truck.

Been a while since I posted so I thought I would let everyone know what's going on with my 83 Venture Royale. It is officially hot here in Phoenix now. Too hot to ride. My mechanic is taking the bike this week and will sync the carbs and fixed the throttle. The throttle response is poor when I come off the gas - it takes too long to get back down to idle. The other issue I am going to have him investigate is the heat. The bike just feels like it is very hot in the area around my legs - much hotter than other bikes I have ridden. I want him to check out the cooling system and make sure everything is good to go. Once I get the mechanics done, its off to the painter. I am having the bike painted in a metallic grey (same color as my 2004 F150). Looking forward to seeing the finished product!

I recently had someone's peg hit my right rear saddlebag turning a corner and you know what happened. Around $700 later its done except for the pin stripe around the luggage rack. I have a 2004 R/S Venture, pearl white. Does anyone have this stripe laying around I could purchase? The dealer in Wilson, NC was no help. Thanks..............

I'm very new to RSV's. I did a search and didn't find what I was looking for. And looked at Venture history. After +/- 2004 did the fuel tank ever change size or shape? Is there somewhere that shows tank emblems and what they indicate?

I am looking for a reasonably priced set of headlights (I call them running lights) for my bike; I had them on my previous bike and it did make a difference in people seeing me. I have a 2004 Yamaha Venture R/S. Thanks everyone.

Hello everyone, No on will remember me I used to hang out here close to 2.5 -3 years ago. Then I sold my bike and slumped into a deep dark depression...LOL My name is Art, I'm a medic up in Flushing Michigan, I rode with the VR crew out to Port Huron for a Eat and Greet. We also Met the crew in Frankinmuth for a luncheon ( I was leading the pack back to my place when one of the guys hit a dog...ring any bells?) Anyhow, I forgot my login info, so I started fresh. Monday I pick up my new bike.... 2004 Midnight VRS. She only has 24k miles on her and is in mint condition. I look forward to seeing everyone again ( Brad this means you) . Had someone pull out in front of me again yesterday; I had my 3x5 foot flag in the wind but the man upstairs helped me out when I needed it. Sure glad I didn't have my "stuff" on board. Now for the rest of the story; I installed a bar and spotlights with switch on my Vstar 1100 (which has been traded in). I have not been able to find something similar for my 2004 royal star venture. I went to the website for cobra and even talked to them; they could not help me. I have confidence in venturerider.org; someone can point me in the right direction.

Hey gang. I've posted elsewhere on this site about an annual trip me and my 4 brothers do every year before Easter. 2008 was year 5, and in the name of technology one of my brothers decided to mount a video camera on his Harley and film some of our ride. He's pretty tricky with A/V stuff, and he produced this little gem. Just to give you some stats - our ages range from 42 to 56. We live in different parts of the east of Australia, with the 2 brothers furtherest apart being separated by over 1,000 kms. So this year we met in the middle at a place called Stanthorpe, just over the border in Queensland. The bikes involved are my 2004 RSV, a 2007 Harley, a 2004 Harley, a 1998 Harley and a 1983 Honda Super Bol d'or. Hello everyone, I registered for this site because i know i am buying a Venture as soon as i find one that i like. Right now i am looking at two for around the same price and year. My question to all those who have the knowledge of these bikes is, how does $9000 sound for a 2004 with 22,000 miles? I know what these bikes go for new but not sure about resale value. It is a midnight edition BTW. I think that is just the paint job but maybe you all can enlighten me. Thank you in advance. Josh

My wife has a 2004 Vulcan Classic 1500. She would like a set of Leatherlyke saddlebags. The Model # is T-422 I believe. Anyway, I have been serching the net to find the best price on a set. Anyone have an idea of where I could get a set? I hate to pay full price for the bags since that takes money aay from me to spend on my Venture. LOL Thanks for any help.

Greetings all, I'm pretty sure I saw some photos of a decaled 2nd Gen RSV somewhere on this site last year. The bike was a white one (2004?) and the owner had applied beautiful blue coloured "flame" licks that ran along the sides of the tank, onto the side covers and continued on to the panniers. I'm seriously thinking of dressing up my 2004 RSV a bit, and would like to get something similar done. Who remembers the photos, or better still - who owns that bike and posted those shots? Permit me if I may to share some family photos with you - a little bit of history included. What do YOU have to share, if possible? Enjoy these. The first shot is of my Dad in 1946 on his old Harley. Next is me in 1971 on my brother's AJS (with a Matchless 650 twin motor). Then me again in 2004 prior to a weekend away on my 1972 K2 Honda 750/4 with my brothers. Finally - hey! What more can I say?

I just renewed the insurance on my RSV. When I bought it (second-hand) the previous owner said it was a 2003 model. Took him on his word. I've since found out - through this forum - that it's a 2004 model. She's white, apparently that makes it 2004. The insurance company is trying to tell me that it can tell from the VIN that it was manufactured in 2003. This may be so, but does that make it a 2003 or 2004 model. See my avatar. She's definately white. VIN is JYAVP09254A000058 and was sold new in Australia on 04/05/2004. (That's the fourth day of May for you Yanks). So, what year model do you reckon I own? I'd like to straighten out the insurance company.
