Took the Venture in for new set of sneakers today. Went back to Metzlers....888 this time. I had the 880s on the 86 and liked them. Avonns were good but flat center on the rear from highway riding made it difficult to do my stunt driving at low speed. All good there. Had the shop balance the carbs while it was there... it was there why not. Seems they have troubles with it as now I have continual popping sound and the big bang on deceleration. The air stuff was cap off long time ago so not that. Mechanic feels the O rings on the adjustment screws are dried out and should be replaced. I am going to order an Ivan's kit to be installed but not sure about the O rings if they will be in the kit. It was funny seeing the shop opening up VR.org to check carb sync info. Open for discussion.

As some of you know, I have a problem,,,, I know what you are thinking, but this is a new one. I ride a 2014 Spyder and installed JMCB 2003 for a CB and intercom. The intercom works fine, and the CB broadcasts just fine. Now if we get 2 CBs close together I can hear the other, if they are more than 4ft apart I can't hear the other person. I can hear a tapping on their mic, but no voice comes through. Now hear is the next problem then. I contacted JM corp and they would like me to try to use one of their headsets. I use the Edsets with the proper cord, but they were wondering if I could try one of theirs. SO!!!! anybody in the area have a set they could lend me??

Everytime I lean into a turn I feel a roughness or maybe a rubbing which seems to be getting worse. The bike is a 2003 RSV. Tires don't look bad. Any ideas? -

Ok folks last week my pc crashed and I had to replace it with a new tower. I had a Outlook 2003 program on it for my e-mails. Due to replacing the pc tower I had to upgrade to Outlook 2010. (no cd disc for the Outlook 2003 program). So now I'm starting back to 0 on my contact list. I'm going to replace my laptop and it looks like it'll be Vista or windows 7 OS. My problem is that I HAVE to install Front Page 2003 on it to run a program. I can't seem to confirm that Front Page 2003 will run in Vista, been running on XP Pro

Did someone here contact Pitbull Motorcycle Lifts today, inquiring about a lift? I was up there buying some leather, and someone called about one for a 2003 Venture. I told Tony that my new Venture was a 2003, but it wouldn't be back here until Saturday. He wanted to take some measurements so that he could make the right adapter for their lifts. If so, I will be taking it up there(they are my neighbors) next week for him to measure. That would be great as I love those lifts, but they didn't make the adapter I needed.

Looking for an owner manual for my 2006 RSTD. Also would like a Clymers, but they seem to only go up to 2003. Anybody have one available . . . or can point me to a source. Thanks.

While out riding yesterday, a guy aproached me and asked if I would be interested in a 2003 midnight venture royal star With 13,000km on it. I think he said he would like 12,000 CDN for it but I am not 100% sure. In any case I told him I would post it on our web site. I also gave him my e-mail address so he could send me some pics. His reason for parting with it is that he went back to a sport bike, that the venture was just too tame for him ( he should have got a 1st gen). Hi everyone, A thought that has come to mind after a colleague of mine had some issues with his Honda VTX on a trip..... I have never heard my fan come on, running or after shut down, regardless of how hot it has been outside, how long of a trip I have been on, etc.. I have never had any mechanical issues but wondering from others how often their's run, etc. Thanks Trevor -

Howdy... A friend of mine just traded a motorhome for a 05 RSV with only 1800 miles on it...It has a set of Sampson Mufflers that he says are way too loud...wonders if stock 2003 Harley Soft Tail mufflers will fit on it. I told him that Road King Muffs fit , but I don't know of any others that do... Can anyone provide an answer? Thanks, Steve

I'm looking for a Power Commander for my Royal Star Midnight Venture 2007, if some of you had install this let me know if it's good for you. I had one on my old bike it was good, more power but it was on my Kawasaki Nomad 2003 with fuel injection. On my bike with carburators i wonder if it's good. Please give me your opinion. I wanted to let you all know about a salvage site that I belong to that has a 2003 Venture up for auction. Its a 2003 and its black. It does look like an easy fix and it seems like (from the pictures) that the owner but some money into it with extras. The name of the site is "RideSafely.com". Their main office is in Pa.. I did buy an Electra Glide thru them a few years ago (wreck) and was very satisfied with their service. Please don't think that I'm endorsing them but you may find the bike that you've been looking for here Josh

Question: 2003 and back to about 1998 I believe, VL 1500 Intruder, Suzuki V-Twins. ?? I been researching them as a possible bike for my son. As in, looking for a good deal on a used bike. Anyway, does anybody have any information as to any types of known problems with these bikes. I guess the 2004 and up, are known as the C90 -- From what I can find the 03 and older ones, at least on E-Bay, have been selling for around $4500.00 I found 5 that have sold on E-Bay, this month for that Average Price. So, any comments , good or bad would be apprciated, just looking for information on them at this point. Thanks-

I would like to add a luggage rack on my 2007 Venture. The only one I've seen is on JC Whitney but is says it only fits up to 2003. So where do I get a decent one from? Ride Safe Phil -
Anyone know of a good 2003 Red & Gold saddlebag for sale? The dealer's price is outrageous and I've been looking on eBay without any luck. Also, who has the best prices on replacement parts like fenders, turn signal assemblies, etc? I'm also looking for the best discounts in accessories. Yup, someone decided to "customize" my bike last week. Thanks.

No, I didn't buy a 2nd gen... I installed Ubuntu Linux and here I am! I set this up on my home PC while retaining my original Windows XP OS... now have a dual boot loader. Decided to move to Linux at home as I'm installing it onto one of my servers at work, replacing Windows 2003 Enterprise. Of the 5 servers we have, the Linux server will play a small role, acting as a "disaster recovery" storage box for all the data as well as the other server's images which are updated on a weekly basis. The decision to move to Linux was mostly monetary as we're replacing our first domain controller and didn't want to purchase another copy of Windows 2003 server. We can use the copy from the converted Linux box. I've been experimenting with Linux for several years; however, this is the first time I've used it in a real world situation. Gotta say...it's GREAT!

I just renewed the insurance on my RSV. When I bought it (second-hand) the previous owner said it was a 2003 model. Took him on his word. I've since found out - through this forum - that it's a 2004 model. She's white, apparently that makes it 2004. The insurance company is trying to tell me that it can tell from the VIN that it was manufactured in 2003. This may be so, but does that make it a 2003 or 2004 model. See my avatar. She's definately white. VIN is JYAVP09254A000058 and was sold new in Australia on 04/05/2004. (That's the fourth day of May for you Yanks). So, what year model do you reckon I own? I'd like to straighten out the insurance company.

I am in the market for a touring bike and have the opportunity for purchase a very low mileage 2003 Venture. Is there any thing I need to know about the 2003 model year or the marque?
