Was going to wait until spring ... came across a great deal on a 2001 Valkyrie but lost out to a previous "bidder". Oh well, things happen for reasons I always say (the Valk was a 2-3 day ride away) .... and then I stumbled onto this ... turns out it was the right bike at the right price in the right place, so we bought it. 2003 GL1800A

Side Gapping, any one done it yet?
Darren posted a topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Just finished reading this article, and thinking very heavily of doing this tomorrow. Just wondering if anyone else has done it yet? I think this might add to the lower end in addition to the other mods in this forum. With these fuel prices, i'm willing to try anything!! 2-3mpg is 2-3 mpg http://performanceunlimited.com/documents/plugsidegapping.html -
The wife and I are going to take a ride to Charlotte, NC (from Orlando), and I'm looking for scenic routes. We are planning on a 2-3 day ride up to Charlotte, spend a couple of days in the Charlotte area, then a 2-3 day ride back to FL, so we really aren't in a big hurry... So I'm asking the fine folks here for some route suggestions through GA, SC & NC. I prefer to use Interstates only as connectors (20-30 miles max)....everything else is fair game! Thanks!!

After a couple weeks of mostly cold weather, it looks like friday is going to be pretty nice for January. Any one want to take a 2-3 hour afternoon ride? Maybe meet up at Moto400 at 11, have lunch and then ride?

1999 RS Venture - 13,000 miles. Dead battery months back. Charged it fully. Went for a ride a week or so later. Bike stalls at stop sign. Get a jump and drive to dealer. Install new battery immediately...no help. They keep bike and run electrical test.....find blown main fuse. I get bike back and take a 2-3 hour ride a week later. No problem. Couple weeks later take another 2-3 hour drive and bike dies. Won't start. I think the first ride drained the battery and the 2nd one killed it. Dealer tells me that screw holding cable on batter was loose and could not find any other problem. Really don't believe them on the loose screw thing. I plan on doing a 2-3 hour ride this weekend and then checking battery to see if holding a charge. Any other thoughts? Tucker

On my 06 RSTD, I've noticed I get alot of air coming up around the fuel tank at 70 mph. If I hold my hands beside the tank directly in front of my knees its gone or deflected away, eliminating air hitting my arms and chest. I'd like to have someone make something that would mount to the side of the tank w/adhesives (like the emblem) bout 2-3" wide and bout 1-2" tall kinda like a wing that would mold from my knees around to the front of the tank. I've thought about looking into having someone machine something out of aluminum but I'm scared of how much it would cost in excess of $500. Bike is stock, with 16" clearview with the wider lowers. Any thoughts on if that idea is possible or alternative ideas ....tks PS I've thought bout sending my tank emblems to someone like OCC and have them machine something with the same diameters but extended it out 2-3". I made a decision to purchase a standby generator, a 20 KW air cooled model. Operates on natural gas, came with a 200 amp Load shedding automatic transfer switch. I'm in the process of doing the install over the next 2-3 weeks. I wanted to know if anyone here might use this brand or have any knowledge of these generators. Thanks J.B.
