Found the proverbial oil puddle under the shock. This will be the second shock I have replaced on this bike and haven't even hit 50,000 miles. Anyway, has anyone ever used a shock off a RSTD pre 1999? I see that these are not air shocks. Or, does anyone have one that came off an RSV and is in good working order that they would want to sell? Can't afford a new one or a Works shock. I have been watching ebay and the only one so far that comes up is used for $399. You can get a new one for another $60 including shipping. Thanks in advance for any help. Charles

Does anyone know a good place / website to get one of those wooden bead seat covers for a bike seat at a good price. I want to get two but hate the idea of dropping $50 to $60 not knowing weather or not I'll like them. There was a place on ebay selling them for 12 buck but looks like there out.

I've done some dumb things in my day, but today took ranks right up there in the top 5. Today I changed my oil and added motorkote too. That's about $60 worth of lubricant (Amsoil). I also had cut the rear baffles out of my road king's. I couldn't wait to hear that so I had to run it down the road. Like those alot better. I took another look at the oil level and realized I had overfilled it. To keep this short.....Oil takes longer to cool down than you think. When I pulled the plug out (not hot) and the oil (extremely hot) flowed down over my hand, it was so hot I couldn't get the dad blamed plug back in. Yep, that's right $60 worth of Amsoil & Motorkote right out on the floor. Live and learn, I guess.:mo money::mo money:
