I found a set of plans (free) for building a bike cargo trailer using a roof carrier. Looks pretty simple...even for someone like me! And at less than $400 for the parts...a LOT cheaper than most! Thought someone might be interested. http://www.intergate.com/~brianb/bike/MotorcycleCargoTrailer.htm

I just paid a guy $400 for his 83 Royale with 59,000 miles on it. He wanted $500 - offered him $400 and he jumped on it! I was going to offer less but we jumped it and it started right up. He said the clutch needed bled but wasn't sure. The seat has duct tape - rust on some of the chrome - could use a paint job (son does body work) - but has newer tires and seems to run good. He said 2nd gear just started to act up. Anyway - I figure for the money - it is good entertainment!

Ok, I just bought (today) an 83 Ventrue. I don't want to sound retarded, but this is the first venture i've had. Does the bike have a fuel petcock to turn the fuel off like most bikes? If it does where the heck is it! I'm having trouble with the bike starting. It acts like it isn't getting fuel, so first thought, fuel is turned off. But then I can't find the petcock. SOOOOOO, any helpful hints, tips, and suggestions would be great. The bike seems to be in pretty good shape, ecspecially considering I only paid $400 for it. Thanks!

I not knocking harleys but just had to tell you all this story. A friend on mine bought an 07 street glide. He paid $400 for a sprocket that harley says will eliminate the vibration. After installing the sprocket the vibration moved to a higher rpm instead of going away completely. My friend went back to the local harley dealer and told the service manager he wasn't going to pay $400 for something that doesn't work. The service manager said lets go back in the shop and talk to one of the technicians. When my friend explained his problem to the certified harley technician the technician replied, "It's a damn harley it's supposed to vibrate." My friend is very upset.
