usedcyclesales Posted January 23, 2012 #1 Posted January 23, 2012 Don't have time to wait to buy a jack adapter How and where do I put wood so that I can jack the bike up just need to get front end off the ground but need to get at the clutch line either needs tightened or replaced and I have ti tighten steering change coolant so I just need to straighten her up and get a liitle height on the front end just so the tires an inch offf the ground. Oh my jack width is about 14"
playboy Posted January 24, 2012 #2 Posted January 24, 2012 If your jack has 12" bars place a 2x2x14 piece across the back section of jack and place 2 more 2x2 pieces approx. 6" in length on the front section of your jack. There are two brackets under the bike the full length section of wood will fit between towards the rear of bike line this up then watch as you raise jack and position the other two smaller pieces one on the frame on right side and the other one where it wont hit your kickstand safety switch. I found that it helps to have someone balance the bike upright while you are doing this. Hope this helps.
playboy Posted January 24, 2012 #3 Posted January 24, 2012 that is for a standard motorcycle jack. Not a floor jack for auto's
