It is a Hannigan kit, and the first one ( other than the test unit ) that has the optional aux gas tank. It is off right now to make the installation easer. Yepp I am having fun too,,:) I think I have about 8 hours into it so far, just goofin off. It will probably be done by Thur or Fri, and road tested. I am only working on it in the evenings ( because this one is mine, and there isn't a delivery day looming over my head,, )

The real fun is to come,,:shock3: when I strip it back down to the frame, and send every thing in to be painted. That is going to be at least a two week wait,,,

yep i would like to know which kit your going to use also. i am almost ready to convert my '99 rsv.

don c.

You wont regret doing it. I cant ride these big beast any more with my old knees, and being hard to handle in a parking lot ( slow speed ) No to mention that they are just more fun to ride after being Triked,,,:happy34:

George,

Are you going to keep the Wing?

Plus - are you going to write superb manual like you did for the Motortrike?

Just wondering!!!

Yes to both,,, :scratchchin: The Hannigan has ZIP, NADA, ZILCH, ZERO as far as an installation instruction set, and now that they have added the gas tank ( still zero instructions for that also,, ) I will have to add that to the instructions. One would think that there was at least a page or two, on how to do the conversion. They say that your supposed to take notes at the training class :rotf: yea right!!! Good thing I had a good memory. Then again this is the 8th or 9th one in a year too..... That helps. I have about 6 or 8 pages written so far, and just to the taking off of the rear wheel, and cutting the bag frame,, a lot more to go,, that is the easy part that anyone can do,,

I've been thinking about another trike. I had 2 GoldWing trikes, a '92' & a '98' - loved them both. If I do go trike again, it'll be my Venture with a Hannigan that somebody else installed.

Please keep the pictures coming. Looks great. Show us all how the kit is made in the pictures.

I did my 86 about 4 years ago and love riding it. Just put it away and took out the 06 Venture for the rest of the summer. Back on 2 wheels but had a great time all spring on 3 wheels.:97:

The Venture makes a great Trike, and the ride comfort is fantastic you cant go wring by having it Triked at all. I just cant handle any thing heaver than a bicycle any more at slow speed where it has to be held up by me, and have trouble with that even ;)

OH the Hannigan isn't a DIY Self Install Kit. It is an Installer kit, and also has its issues that have to be worked out. I have found at least three on this kit that has to be addressed, and sent back to Jim at Hannigan. ( I have already corrected them and sent photos to Jim )

I didn't get a lot done as far as actual visible progress last night, and only worked for a couple of hours. Every thing on the frame is set and tightened ( and marked ) drive-shaft set, speed-O set ( still need to road test ) brakes bled, things like that. Tonight I will set the Toe on the rear end ( tires ), and do the road test I think, then do the wiring.

Normally by now I would have the body set, and doing the running boards, then the rake.

Were are all the good pictures??????????????????????????????

We all would like to see how it looks after each time you work on it.

I know it is hard becasue I tried to do this when I built mine.

Best of luck on your project.

So far looks great

I'm not sure,,,:confused24: I would think so, but it does require cutting on the body to put them on,,,:shock3:

Got the gas filler cap, and tour pac back on to test ride and check the gas tank out. Extra gas tank works like a champ,,,:happy34:

Put a quick 120 on it this afternoon to shake it down.

Looks great George!!! Why don't you just come ride Eastern Tennessee with us this week? :big-grin-emoticon:

If this thing was out of paint, and the rake was on,,,You don't know how tempting that sounds...:scratchchin: Tuesday I will run it by the paint shop to give them a look at how it looks all together, and the lines of it together, and come back to the shop and strip it all off, and take it to them in boxes.....:yikes: I just hope I don't loose any of the baggies of screws, and bolts. Then the waiting begains.....

This is what I have now as of midnight last night,,,:confused24:

It took a while to get this way,,, There are a lot of things to take apart to paint one of these things.

Naked shots:

That is how you set the Toe on the rear wheels on the Hannigan Trikes ( all of them ) we use the light tubes, because they don't bend, and are straight. Any thing else can and will flex at the length needed, and it is easer to do before the rake goes on because of the length of the tubes only being 8 feet.......

I spent more time taking it apart than I actually did ( hours wise ) converting it to the Trike....... If I had of known it took this long to strip I would have knocked it out faster,,,:) Now I have a Harley on the lift and this parer weight in the way,,,,,,,,;)

Pushed her out in the sun to clean a few things. Sure looks Sad sitting there all Naked. It has only been three days, and two of them were closed days for the paint shop,, I am starting to be like a customer :Is it done yet" :) I have a Harley to start on tomorrow, so that will keep me busy for a couple of days. I already know the paint will be 7 good working days when they get started, and this could be the longest week to ten days this summer.......
