I think I'm on the right track here but want to the check. Looks like I might be in the market for a TCI for my '84. From the info I am looking at I know that the 26 series will only work on an '83. Figures. I just happen to have a good working 26H in my parts storage. The bike starts and idles very well with that one plugged in but the advance settings are different.

The 41 series will work in all 1200 and 1300 models 1984 thru 1987 from my cross reference info.

As for the 41R-82305-11-00, or 10-00, or 09-00 and such that is just the minor changes from year to year from the makers right?

I'm seeing TCI's with labels that only show 41R-10 or 41R-11. What is the info on that desigination?

Just trying to be sure of what I'm buying.

Anybody want to do some horse trading for a 26H?

Hey Dave.

Yeppers that's one of several I've been watching. Always a few floating around the bay but so many different part #'s. I'm starting to think that Yammy just used abbreviated numbers like changing 41R-82305-11-00 to just 41R-11. Waiting for the higher powers that be (HEY SQUEEZE) to tell me if I'm right on that or not.

But thanks for the input. An extra eye always helps.

Somebody called me ?? ?? :scratchchin: :scratchchin: :D :D

You're right, those last four Digits are superseded Parts Number for newer Parts which directly replace older Parts. So, a 41R-82305-11-00 is superseding a 41R-82305-09-00 or 41R-82305-10-00. All Parts will fit and work on the Bike they are desigened for, lower or higher Superseed Number.

The first three Digits are the Model in which the Part first appeared and the next Group of five Digits are the actual Parts Code. Therefore, the "82305" will always be the same on every Year, but to decide which Unit will actually work in Bike, you need to have the Model Code also the same. As we know, the '83 IS TCI different to all the others. You also gotta stay away from '90-'93 CDI, the Casing is the same but there's only one Pickup Coil whereas the earlier Bikes had two of them.

Yeah,

90 to 93 is what I need . Wright now I'm using a borrowed tci from Muffinman.

If he cant fix mine I'm gonna need a new one for sure and cant seem to find the one I need so far. Found plenty of the pre 90's but no luck yet on the 90-93.

Thanks Squeeze.

I'm looking at a couple of 41R-11's and a 41R-10 right now so I might have a chance to pick one up.

As long as any 41R will work I got a chance.

Thanks again.
