I'm terrible at electrical work, but luckily I found someone that is very good and reasonable in KC. I don't have to do the work, but I need to select the equipment.

1) Rear lights. I have a 2000 MM with the standard back lights. I want more light. I just have the single red light in the back. Can anyone tell me what equipment I might buy for the back that would give me more riding lights and fit solidly on our Gen 2? Pictures would be great.

2) I read a lot of discussion about LED's on the front light and radio static. I would like to have better light on the head light and the riding lights. What is the bottom line on upgrading lights? I want dependabilty and good lights. I have just removed all my LED's from the blinkers because the cancelers didn't work and that seemed a lot more dangerous than the benifit of more light on a blinker.

Thanks for the help. Again, I don't need wiring directon just equipment and bottom line reccomendations.

Here are some places to start.

Tail light. Get the 100 led unit. You might have to do some minor fitting. http://www.customdynamics.com/Yamaha_tail_retro.htm

A little more work than the tail light but worth the effort. http://www.cruisercustomizing.com/detail.cfm?action=detail&model_ID=42&Category_ID=5&manufacturer_ID=223&product_ID=6421&sblid_name=detail

You can get one of these from several sources. With or without a brake light. Also worth the effort. http://www.customdynamics.com/Light_bars.htm

Chech out the light bar I've got in the classifieds. This will give you all the light in the rear you could ask for.:smile5:

Here's a picture of my backside with some of the above mentioned parts all put together.

(it also helps that the bike is white)

Use the above link from Mikewa...scroll down to the 15 inch ultra led light bar...this will fit perfectly between the helmet locks under the trunk. It gives you three LED's as running lights and 8 LEDs as brake lights.

I also added a "back off" device to this light bar so it blinks a few times when i hit the brakes.

I also added the integrated run/brake/turn signals lights (also from custom) to the back...gives me a bunch of running lights and brakes lights as well

I just recently added the side reflector LED lights as well. Let me know if you need any of the info
