Grooved highways

Anyone have any suggestions for riding on an 8 lane highway with heavy traffic.

I grab the inside lane , go my own pace . Being outside lanes always have cagers switching lanes in and out exits like maniacs . At least I only have to deal with watching my one right side . Cagers see me well and pass on the right if they need be or if traffic is lite , I move over and let them by , then get back into inside lane . To much to watch for in safety , so I limit it by taking the inside lane . Grooved pavement , I just relax and let the scoot float , try not to push it or over steer , like riding over steel grate bridges .

Be wide awake and pray.:rotfl: Go with the flow, finger floating over the horn button, checking mirrors frequently. I've been cutoff more from cars coming on the interstate than anywhere else. The one vehicle I give wide room to is any newer Mopar mini-van.There are a bizzillion of these things on the road. There is a blind spot in their mirrors you can lose a whole car in. It is right about at their rear bumper.My mom has one I know from experience. I've cut off cars driving that thing. One of those vehicles that looking over your shoulder pays before you move. I never linger to long anywhere just behind a cage driver in heavy traffic. Be noticed. Grooved pavement BEER30 has it right, relax. Tough to do on a 8 lane though.

The grooved highways don't bother me near as much since I switched from the OEM Dunlop tires. Tires with a tread pattern like the Avons do a lot better. I just ordered a Elite 3 to try out.

Lol i just put on a new set of Dunlop 404 www, over the brigstones that came with to see if it improves the ride Don't you need to keep OEM tires on it during the warrenty? I'm new at this.

No you dont need to keep the original tires for warranty purposes, if any dealer tries to tell you that, they are full of crap. Yamaha puts 2 different mfgrs on the Venture Dunlop and Bridgestones, both tires suck in my opinion

I run Avons on my '03 RSV and have never had any trouble on grooved highways. Just watch out for those around you on that big road!

that road is Rte 128 around boston, that the problem..... its not a matter of guts beer just a question of smarts
