Tomorrow SFC Donnie Shue comes home 043011. MIA for 42 years. I'm riding the escort, my heart and my tears to a fallen brother. May God rest his soul and give him peace.

For those in the Charlotte area search the internet for details of the escort if you choose to ride

Just seeing the words "A fallen soldier comes home" made my heart sink.

42 years is along time for the family to endure. The hurt and tears will be much to bare I am sure.

It Is hard to imagine what he must have gone through in 42 years and what he may still have to face upon his return. Life at home for this brave soul will certianly not be as he remembered it. I hope that he will be able to regain some of what his sacrifice has cost him.

He is a fallen solider saddlebum. He is coming home to be buried. He is not alive.

I am really sorry, when I read the part MIA, the thought of someone coming home alive after all those years and the fact that I overlooked that the word fallen was in the title of the post. I just for some reason assumed he was held captive and finally released. It never hit me that he was a fallen soldiar. My deepest sorrow goes out to his Familly along with my respect for his sacrifice for his country and the free world.

I also live in Kannapolis NC and this is the first I've heard of this has it been in the news. I didn't think I lived under that big a rock.

Our Rolling Thunder Chapter NC5 will be there on Sunday's final escort. Due to prior "Vietnam Recognition Ceremony" commitment. We will depart immediately after the ceremony to Statesville to join everybody.
