920shrek1 Posted April 4, 2010 #1 Posted April 4, 2010 Need some help trying to remove my cassette deck from my 07 rsv have the 4 bolts out from the sides the 2 screws from the front it's loose but it's like the front door (closed) wont fit thur the opening, its hanging up. From what i can see the face plate is catching on top and i dont have enough room for it to slide out. Dont want to froce it. any suggestion's Thanks Ken
rickardracing Posted April 4, 2010 #2 Posted April 4, 2010 You have to remove the large control box that sit under the top rails. Two brackets hold it up. Take that out and you will have enough room to remove it.
920shrek1 Posted April 5, 2010 Author #3 Posted April 5, 2010 Did that it's like the door is catahing and it wont fit thur the opening
frogmaster Posted April 5, 2010 #4 Posted April 5, 2010 when I did same there was one little %$(*^%$ screw or (bendable tab) that was not mentioned. I seem to remember it was near the door too...
SilvrT Posted April 5, 2010 #5 Posted April 5, 2010 Did that it's like the door is catahing and it wont fit thur the opening Keep fussing with it... it will come. Play with the angle of the cassette door a bit while at the same time, trying to pull the cassette out from the back. Mine was like this too. I also think you have to unbolt the top headlight bracket and move the headlight forward in order to get enuf room to wiggle the cassette out.
920shrek1 Posted April 5, 2010 Author #7 Posted April 5, 2010 Thanks for the help guys. Well then I will keep wiggiling and jiggiling on it and cursing at it then. Just did'nt want to break some thing. And Cougar looking forward to seeing you and the Iowa gang again the 1st of May

LilBeaver Posted April 5, 2010 #11 Posted April 5, 2010 If you still have trouble you can always resort to: http://www.oldtimestrongman.com/images6/25pound_sledgehammer.gif or http://www.chasingthewalrus.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/jackhammer.jpg or my favorite: http://i.ehow.com/images/a04/rs/4v/acetylene-cutting-torch-800X800.jpg Okay, I'll stop being oh so helpful. On a serious note - have you tried sliding the player out through the front? Sometimes they are tricky like that. Qualifying statement: I have nto removed my tape player nor have attempted it, so this is just a thought.
LilBeaver Posted April 5, 2010 #12 Posted April 5, 2010 ... No you aren't. We can all see it now: SilverT at his desk --> :bawling: :witch_brew: :stickpoke: :duck:
