Cougar Posted March 24, 2013 #76 Posted March 24, 2013 The post's have been revised about 2 days ago to show the correct one. There was a mistake made in error on the first time it was posted. The vendor as fixed the problem and now he shows the correct one we need for the Hannigan. as it was not showing last week. He shows several different type's of (T's) on his site and they look the same. I got the link from Trike talk and posted it here . The correct one is linked to the eBay site now. if yours match up with it, then your fine. thread length and cam. the wrong one was like $575 and the new type is like $6 something. the hole size will be the same.
ragtop69gs Posted March 25, 2013 #77 Posted March 25, 2013 Here is a picture of the lock I'm going to try. It's used on vending machines, it uses a barrel style key lock. Turn the key and the lock pops up, turn to open trunk, push down to lock. I'll have to make my own cam. I like the low profile look of it when locked.
Cougar Posted March 25, 2013 #78 Posted March 25, 2013 Thats a good idea Jay. take some pics after mounted please.
alwrmcusn Posted March 25, 2013 #79 Posted March 25, 2013 OK, this has gotten completely out of hand for me. Can someone provide me a SPECIFIC link/identification/part number of the exact lock I need? Will I have to specify a longer cam or anything? I have the lock I thought I need based on info from the forum here. Now if I understand it correctly that was all in error and I actually need a different lock.
Cougar Posted March 25, 2013 #80 Posted March 25, 2013 this one.,, I also am going to call you this morning. http://www.ebay.com/itm/T-Handle-Cam-Lock-For-Enclosures-Cabinets-Desks-Generators-Boxes-etc-/150999200910?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0=&hash%3Ditem232840f48e=
alwrmcusn Posted March 25, 2013 #82 Posted March 25, 2013 Cougar: I just completed the order of the "correct" lock (smile). Thank you for taking the time to help with this. If this order goes as quickly as the last, I may have it installed for my STAR meeting this weekend. Thanks again and have a super day.

alwrmcusn Posted March 25, 2013 #84 Posted March 25, 2013 Just an addendum: I ordered the lock about 30 mins ago, I just recvd the tracking number for the shipment. Yep!! He's definitely fast on shipping!!
Cougar Posted March 25, 2013 #86 Posted March 25, 2013 OK Gang, here is a pic of both large and small locks with the OEM cam in the middle of the mess. at lest you have more working room with the larger cam that comes with the unit on the right.. I will be cutting mine to match the OEM cam from the larger cam. the small just almost works but barely. I also will be using the extra nut from one of my small units so there will be two to make a better locking as well. Let use know how you did yours and your tips and tricks please. Jeff
Cougar Posted March 26, 2013 #87 Posted March 26, 2013 So far I am liking the chrome plating on the handle on the short locks better and they can be swapped out as well to the larger lock. At lest all of us have the same damn keys so if you loose one I have spares
Cougar Posted March 26, 2013 #88 Posted March 26, 2013 OK guys mine installed pretty easy today, took about 40 Min's as I had to cut and file the cam to my liking. Have fun. glad this project is OVER Works great Here are some pics to maybe help someone in the future . Cougar Posted March 26, 2013 #90 Posted March 26, 2013 I hear ya Bro... first I have to dig my way out of the garage first
Nemo Posted March 28, 2013 #91 Posted March 28, 2013 Hi Jeff! I've hated that Hannigan key lock, so from your suggestion, I just ordered one of the T-locks for myself, so hope it fits as you describe. Thanks, Owen.
bongobobny Posted March 28, 2013 #93 Posted March 28, 2013 Mine is in the box in my garage. If it ever stops snowing maybe I'll get it in. I agree, the trunk lock is yet another petty aggravation with the Hannigan. I love mine but there is several petty things I'm less than happy with...
ragtop69gs Posted March 28, 2013 #94 Posted March 28, 2013 Here is what Im going to use. Came in the mail yesterday.
ragtop69gs Posted March 28, 2013 #96 Posted March 28, 2013 that depth long enough Same as the hannigan lock so it should be.
