  1. The bolt that hold the hanger for the muffler is the rearmost position on the support. Loosen the bolt and remove it by pulling it through towards the outside of the bike. Hold the muffler up when removing the bolt. It should drop down after sliding the pipe off the collector. Had to hijack somebodies pic. Didn't have one handy. Can't think of anything else that would be holding it.
  2. Hey Tim, a few pics. And sent you a PM
  3. Don't think I'll be too concerned over that. She's been taking handgun lessons.
  4. You got it Tim. I'll post again tomorrow with info.
  5. Guess this would be a good way to find out if my daughter has outgrown her pullups yet. She'll be 21 next month but this could set her back a few years.
  6. I've got a stock windscreen off my '84 from when I replaced it with my new CeeBaily. It's not "like new" but no cracks, chips or scratches. I used Plexus on it to deal with the minor swirls. Would have kept in on the bike but wanted a shorter screen and didn't want to chop that one down. I'll try to post some pics tomorrow to show condition. If that works let me know. Mike
  7. I see what you are trying to do but here is a suggestion for building a switch panel. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=34990 I use this for driving lights, side markers and rear light bar.
  8. Oh yeah, been kind of dry around here. My choice of shells are 12 ga. 00 buck and slugs for my shot gun. Bird shot I can find. Anything heavier is about gone. I got the last three boxes (10 packs) from the local sport shop. Certainly been a run on ammo. But I ran across some interesting reading the other day about where a lot of it is going. This all started several months ago. DHS is buying 750 million rounds of ammo in addition to the 450 million rounds of 40 cal. hollow points they purchased earlier this year. If it was military procurment I could understand it but that's a lot of ammo for this particular agancy. The media went wild that regular people can buy 6000 rounds of ammo via mail order but are strangley quiet on this one. http://www.infowars.com/dhs-to-purchase-another-750-million-rounds-of-ammo/ And then this.... I found very interesting. Something seems a little odd about this one. The DOC NOAA National Weather Service - Western Acquisition Division ? Boulder requires the following items, Purchase Description Determined by Line Item, to the following: LI 001, 16,000 rounds of ammunition for semiautomatic pistols to be factory-loaded .40 S&W caliber, 180-grain jacketed hollow point (JHP). 9. :rotf: What reaction? :rotf: I don't remember any reaction. I remember it took 3 hours to get to work that day in '75 I think it was to drive 4 miles to work. When I got there at 9:00 AM the radio weather guy was predicting "flurries". That was the word he used. It was already knee deep at best by then. At noon the company told us we could go home. Too late. It was three days before the crews, city, state and National Guard were able to get to us and get us home. Flurries....... I love this place. They salt the streets when it rains and then can't get through the drifts to clear streets when it actually snows.
  10. Thanks Gary, I tried to upload it in a larger format but the site just resized it back to the same size again. It does need a little updating as the "Good Wifes Guide" comes off as a little archaic. I think a new title would work better as "How to End a Relationship".
  11. Damn, I thought you had run across this article. Got me through my first marriage, and then my second marriage and probably won't help at all if there's a third one. I marked the important stuff so they wouldn't miss it. Didn't help. Then putting it in wedding album seemed to cause a bit of a riff to. How's a guy to know?
  12. Boy you opened a can of worm with this one. I'm assuming your having a shop do the work therefore the high costs. Prices can go high even doing it yoursel. I spent almost $350.00 doing my own and didn't replace the diaphragms at the time. New floats alone were $125.00 for a set of 4 WITH a discount. Buying parts yourself can save you some bucks. You mentioned the diaphragms on the side of the body, the smaller ones I assume again, and I think they are called the decel valves. They seem to be availble from several sources for about $20 to $25 bucks each. A full set of main diaphragms can the have for less than $100.00 from one source we use. A bit under the $200.00 you mentioned. A single slide with diaphragm assembly can be pricey. I wasn't sure if you meant the slide itself was damaged or the sleeve where it seats in the body. Is it's the body damaged you might as well buy a used set and start from there. You wouldn't like the cost of a new body if you could find one. Buying a set off eBay is risky, (I just saw Dingys post) as you will probably, and will need to end up doing a full rebuild anyway. If you want to shop a bit for a full working set of rebuilds check out this site. http://www.wgcarbs.com/ From what I've heard the work is excellent and prices are based on how much it will cost to rebuild yours to replace his stock.
  13. Just running a search on Tap-A-Tap for my Android cell. When I access the web and log on here it refers me to a app called ForumRunner, a Tap-A-Talk product. The reviews on ForumRunner aren't all that great so I searched the apps available on my phone. Great, got a bunch of them, all defined by colors. So......... the phone is smarter than I am so here I am. Any recommendations? Preferences? Advice?
  14. Looks like I've got work to do here.......
  15. Which one was it again? I got a pretty good idea.....
  16. Good news to hear. I've spent a lot of time over the last few years improving and replacing parts as I went along. One of my biggerst irks was the bike not starting or starting like I want it to. I have done almost every component in the electrical system from AGM battery, 4 brush starter, HD cables, fuse panel, stator, R/R, pickups, even exchanged the coils. Carbs have been gone through and still need a lil more, Tanks sealed, new fuel pump, filter and lines. Most all electrical connections have been hardwired and sealed. Digital Volt gauge tells me what I want to know. When the bike decides it's gonna through a fit about starting, it's plug time. Works like a charm. I do need to get the new diaphragms put in. I'm still running on the ones I treated with Plastic-Dip. That fix is holding up better than I ever expected. But I hope you have good season of riding this year. Mike
  17. +1 on the superbrightleds. I used their products to replace every wedge type bulb I could find on the bike. That was about 20 bulbs. I had only one fail when installed they replaced that no-charge in two days. I haven't had a bulb fail since. It's been over three years now. The nice thing about superbrightleds web site is it give each and every spec for the bulbs. You will pretty much know if it will fit or not before you order. In the rear light bar pic only the top row had the LED's in at the time. Bit brighter.

    WOOT

I hear ya Jack. I used to check them every day when I woke up for work at 2:00 AM. Found a lot of great deals there. Since the change of hands it isn't even worth looking at anymore. Sad to see it go down the tube like it has. Heck, you were the one that got me hooked on them in the beginning. It was fun in the beginning. So much for that.
  19. I'm thinking it's time for a Meet & Eat. Prizes for playing with your food!
  20. Might be MAC's, could be Jardines. MAC's on mine.
  21. Oh yeah! There were so many red flags popping up when I got this one it cracked me up. But it was different from the usual garbage I get so I thought I'd post it. This stuff always chaps my hide. My parents were victims of fraud in a major way. That was back before it was an Internet sensation. They got hooked in through "offers" made thought the mail. It ended up costing them in excess of $330,000, or at least what we know of. It got so bad the USPS and the bank ended up doing fraud investigations. The sad part was both my parents suffered from Alzheimers. They had no idea what was happening. They knew they were losing money in major amounts but had no idea why. Sure, they admitted they were sending people checks and Money Orders on a weekly basis but they thought the money supposed to be "forwarded" to them was being "stolen" by me, my sister, the banks and even the the mailman. They never concidered they had given all the personal information to dozens of outside persons through all these "offers". They were helping people. Sad situation. The fraul investigations were able to show they were receiving literally hundreds of letters every month from scam operators. Once they had a hook in someboy they went all out to go after more. I hate to see people fall for this stuff. And this stuff isn't all that new. This started happening to my parents over 35 years ago. Just a new face on a demon.
  22. I get a lot of scam emails but this one is new to me. Even attached a form to fill out to reply back to them. How nice of them. (No I didn't open it) LOL! I'll bet that attachment is a doosey. At least they could get the date right. Lazy twits. Looking at addressing on it it looks like it was sent to about anybody with the name Michael in their email address. 23. I guess that would explain the "weaving" through traffic.
  24. I carry a brake rotor type lock. Mine's called a BullDog. I use it when I have to leave the bike unattended in an unknown area. It's slips over the rotor like a clam shell and the shackle goes through the holes or slots in the rotor so it can't be broken or cut. For ease of use and small storage it's hard to beat.
  25. Nice catch! For what they are listing for on their site you got a heck of a deal. Enjoy
