  1. Cool. Glad you found some. Lil buggers are getting hard to find.
  2. Hey Brian, Looks like they will go out tomorrow. Forgot about it being Presidents Day. Didn't figure that out until I got to the DMV for my new registrations for the car and bike. I could of slept in.
  3. Was out wandering around today and as it is Presidents Day everywhere I needed to go was closed. So.... where does a fella end up? The hardware store. I had been looking for a smaller soft tool bag for packing extra tools when out wandering. I saw some decent looking Craftsman 13" bags hanging up on a rack. Pretty HD bag and lots of room. Marked at $11.99. A stock clerk came by while I was looking at them and pulled the price label off and put up a new one. $4.99. Thank you very much, what's the limit? I bought 4 at that price. I don't know if that price is everywhere but just thought I mention it if anybody was looking for a soft tool bag. Handy for all kinds of stuff.
  4. I use a regular 3/8" 18mm deep well. Not hard to find as a single at most hardware stores. Just eyeball the wall for thickness. Most regular sockets are thin enough. Spark plug sockets are not. Best setup for me is the 18mm socket, swivel, short (4"") extention and the ratchet. Perfect fit all the way around. Find a short section of fuel line to stick on the end of the plug stud to get the new plug started again. Remember to try to blow out the area around the plug before removing. A lot if junk manages to drop down into the recess. Not cool when it goes into the hole.
  5. I got these bagged up for ya. And you have a PM.
  6. Hey Brian PM your mailing address. I fix ya up as soon as I find a decent lens. Mike
  7. I was just looking at that yesterday. A while back you had some downloadable files on the VR Assistance group. I can't seem to find a post or where it might be these days. Any advice is welcome. Thanks Mike
  8. Brian, Let me do a little digging on the lens. I think I have a few faded ones stashed away. As far as the chrome grills... how many ya need? Still got some NOS hanging around.
  9. As a matter of fact...... I do. I have the original pad off my '84 from when I changed over to black. This is one of the last pics of it on the bike before the change. I'll see if I can find the box in storage and get some pics of it later if you're interested. Mike
  10. You're probably going to need a 5 to 4 wire convertor for the wiring to work out right. I used this one on my '84. Found this one on Amazon) A plug mount is a nice touch to keep the wiring nice, neat and in control. Off the top of my head I don't recall the color codes on the bike wires but followed the codes off the convertor and used a probe to confirm the connection. Had it all in stalled and hooked up in less than and hour. With NO sparks!!!
  11. :rotf: Ya crack me up Capt. :rotf: But good choices
  12. All depends on your personal preference for the feel of the hand gun once you decide on what caliber you want. I carry a Ruger .45 semiauto but for CCW I'd like a slimmer model. The .40 fit a smaller hand better and don't print as bad. A 9 mm is as about as low caliber as I'd go these days. Stopping power is one thing..... the shooters aim is another. What ever you decide spend time at a range. Find out what the ammo supplies are like in your area to. Been dry supply around here lately. Check out www.gunbroker.com for a decent selection of guns new and used for an idea of current price ranges. Very reliable outfit. Kind of an eBay for guns. Give ya good idea of what's what.
  13. Some threads never die. Why? Because we are all here to support it... forever! I'm always waiting for my next dumb move. Summers coming. It will happen. The time comes when you catch hitting that kill switch before you quit rolling..... just flip it back on. I promise you will have every car around you moving away as fast as possible. Even better if you have Macs or Jardines.
  14. Has it really got this bad? I know there are some older folks trying to suppliment their incomes but.......... Geesh, This seemed a little extreme. http://www.usatoday.com/story/gameon/2013/02/15/ohio-state-fan-pulled-over-sticker-confused-for-marijuana/1923475/?kjnd=vvDSoH2rK1ptZjHUzXFt2BGgrNo0w2LFZyNXtI4bCmXwUkQ0Vv2EEWhW1uPwHuyA-51dca563-721a-43f2-bf9e-8c264a7c3613_FqYfPM%2FXGcMs2omPNC0k111LDGpY5C0yjRWF5PXvc4hBO6KL6h9TNp4I3H8ZgcKI
  15. The bolt that hold the hanger for the muffler is the rearmost position on the support. Loosen the bolt and remove it by pulling it through towards the outside of the bike. Hold the muffler up when removing the bolt. It should drop down after sliding the pipe off the collector. Had to hijack somebodies pic. Didn't have one handy. Can't think of anything else that would be holding it.
  16. Hey Tim, a few pics. And sent you a PM
  17. Don't think I'll be too concerned over that. She's been taking handgun lessons.
  18. You got it Tim. I'll post again tomorrow with info.
  19. Guess this would be a good way to find out if my daughter has outgrown her pullups yet. She'll be 21 next month but this could set her back a few years.
  20. I've got a stock windscreen off my '84 from when I replaced it with my new CeeBaily. It's not "like new" but no cracks, chips or scratches. I used Plexus on it to deal with the minor swirls. Would have kept in on the bike but wanted a shorter screen and didn't want to chop that one down. I'll try to post some pics tomorrow to show condition. If that works let me know. Mike
  21. I see what you are trying to do but here is a suggestion for building a switch panel. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=34990 I use this for driving lights, side markers and rear light bar.
  22. Oh yeah, been kind of dry around here. My choice of shells are 12 ga. 00 buck and slugs for my shot gun. Bird shot I can find. Anything heavier is about gone. I got the last three boxes (10 packs) from the local sport shop. Certainly been a run on ammo. But I ran across some interesting reading the other day about where a lot of it is going. This all started several months ago. DHS is buying 750 million rounds of ammo in addition to the 450 million rounds of 40 cal. hollow points they purchased earlier this year. If it was military procurment I could understand it but that's a lot of ammo for this particular agancy. The media went wild that regular people can buy 6000 rounds of ammo via mail order but are strangley quiet on this one. http://www.infowars.com/dhs-to-purchase-another-750-million-rounds-of-ammo/ And then this.... I found very interesting. Something seems a little odd about this one. The DOC NOAA National Weather Service - Western Acquisition Division ? Boulder requires the following items, Purchase Description Determined by Line Item, to the following: LI 001, 16,000 rounds of ammunition for semiautomatic pistols to be factory-loaded .40 S&W caliber, 180-grain jacketed hollow point (JHP). 23. :rotf: What reaction? :rotf: I don't remember any reaction. I remember it took 3 hours to get to work that day in '75 I think it was to drive 4 miles to work. When I got there at 9:00 AM the radio weather guy was predicting "flurries". That was the word he used. It was already knee deep at best by then. At noon the company told us we could go home. Too late. It was three days before the crews, city, state and National Guard were able to get to us and get us home. Flurries....... I love this place. They salt the streets when it rains and then can't get through the drifts to clear streets when it actually snows.
  24. Thanks Gary, I tried to upload it in a larger format but the site just resized it back to the same size again. It does need a little updating as the "Good Wifes Guide" comes off as a little archaic. I think a new title would work better as "How to End a Relationship".
  25. Damn, I thought you had run across this article. Got me through my first marriage, and then my second marriage and probably won't help at all if there's a third one. I marked the important stuff so they wouldn't miss it. Didn't help. Then putting it in wedding album seemed to cause a bit of a riff to. How's a guy to know?
