  1. I saw in a new article today old Punxsutawney Phil is facing a death penalty. He must be on your list to.
  2. Hey Jeff. Happy Birthday my friend.
  3. Oh crap. I didn't think anybody saw that. My old neighborhood was the critical mass center for Walnut and Oak trees. If the squirrels weren't bombing you with nuts when you fired the bike up they were rolling them in front of you when you tried to leave. I like walnuts. They go well with squirrel meat. Both are hard to run over.
  4. Now that is odd. The OEM allen bolt is 10mm. I'm hoping the PO didn't get too creative. You don't want to know some of the things I've found done to forks over the years. It gets ugly. Air impacts work fine for taking them apart. (but ya gotta get a bite). NOT EVER for putting them back together. (in my opinion anyway) If it is an 8mm you might get lucky to get a bite with a Torx bit. I was just digging in my box and I don't have any Torx bit that will bite on a 10mm. Take a break, back at it tomorrow. It will get there. Mike
  5. I'll check my spare parts but I don't remember having any extras. Maybe one of the guys will have one laying around. Send a PM to skydoc_17 and check with him. He might have one and he does order parts for members. None of it's really fast no matter where you get them from. Mike
  6. That sounds like it's tight then. Yep. Try the 10mm allen and do you have a hand impact with a 10mm bit? Hand impacts are your best friend on these bikes.
  7. Ok then. I'm sending a PM with my PP address for you.
  8. John, on the air collars...... There are rubber bumpers (looks like a round castle nut) that fit on the forks just above the air collars. If you have a tube sticking up above the tops of the trees that far you may have one missing. And check closely that the thin wire circlips that go below the air collars are still in their grooves on the inner legs. With the bumpers and clips in place everything should fall where it should and go no farther.
  9. The allen wrench you need for the lower bolt is a 10mm. That might fit better. If it is stripped you can also try to drive in a Torx head bit to get a bite.
  10. On the body for the oil lock being stuck I've had a couple that were pretty tight and did not fall out with the damper rod. On one set I had to remove the anti-dive valves from the lower legs and used a small screw driver to reach through the valve port and pry it upward WHILE heating the lower leg with a heat gun. If it stuck real tight more than likely it's badly worn also. Make sure you get all three washers out of there and inspect them closely. Two waves and one flat between them. They are critical to the operation of the oil lock.
  11. And your back. You think the allen hard bolt from the bottom is stripped but it may not be. That bolt screws into the bottom of the damper rod and retains the oil lock asssmebly. If it's a little loose the whole thing will spin. You need to hold the damper rod in place while removing the allen head from the bottom. A simple tool can be made with a section of 5/8" redi-rod with nuts doubled on both ends. Like this one. Some have been able to remove the damper by just shoving a broom handle again the damper to hold it tight enough.
  12. I have fun every year with the Sturgis crowd passing though here. I leave the riders alone but the trailer queens are fair game. I always point out where the closest HD dealership is in case they need new underwear or maybe get their bikes fixed so they can get them off the trailer. I guess I'm getting old. I remember when on the way to Sturgis the only trailers you saw were pulled by a chase vehicle and empty. The guys that looked tough...... were.
  13. I got a guy here I've ridden with a few times. He pulls that stunt on two lane roads passing me and several cars lined up in front of us with oncoming traffic all in one crack. The last time he pulled that when I caught up to him and stopped I explained the next time he pulled that I'd put a bullet in him myself to save a bunch of other folks the misery he would cause someday. He don't get it. He thinks he's cool doing it. Not invited to ride with me anymore. I ain't scraping him up, or telling his family how he bit it. Last spring here in my area I think we had 6 riders die (single vehicle accidents) in the first month the roads were clear. Might be a record season this year. I hope not.
  14. Don, Got the new patches today in the mail. Looking good!!! Thanks Mike
  15. Except sometimes they forget to include all the words.
  16. 私は、この男たちが何について話しているかという理解を持っていませんか
  17. Sounds like John was trying to get the bike on the center stand while sitting on the bike, using his left foot on the stand lever. Myself, I don't think that would ever work with these bikes.
  18. I can't laugh,,,,, I just gave my old Nexstar M3 to my daughter. But I do have a TomTom 550
  19. I'm gonna need a new sign.
  20. Over the years this is what I have managed to learn about talking with women. Go ahead, tell me I'm wrong. :rotf:
  21. John.... Another PM sent you might want to read before you tear back into it. And I attached the Progressive instructions that cover the fine points. Didn't know if you had a copy.
  22. This is a great source for all LED needs. If you can't find what you want here I don't know if they make it. http://www.superbrightleds.com/cat/led-vehicle-replacement-bulbs/

When I'm not here for entertainment I check out the CL Rants & Raves section for my area. That crowd makes me feel closer to the top of the food chain. I check in with Oddee.com for the weird stuff and Newser.com for world news. Other than that I touch base with the boys over at mossburgowners.com to keep up to date with the latest gun news. Of course I have to cruise fleaBay to check thing out and keep track of motorcyclegear.com. Then there is Darwinawards.com to see if there is anybody I know there. I'm waiting. I know they will be sooner or later.
  24. Women are hard to follow sometimes. Nothing they say seems to mean the thing we think it does. As this guy found out...
  25. Brian, I've seen a couple pics of you standing by your bike. That's got to be a fight. You have any cargo pants? You're gonna need some rocks in your pockets. Ya know, maybe one of these guys can build a system to run off the C.L.A.S.S. pump. These pumps don't produce a lot of volume but with a small pneumatic ram cylinder or two..... ah heck. Never mind. But anything is possible ya know.
