  1. I'd say you're looking good. At a lower idle than 1,000 you might see as low as 12.6 or even lower with brakes on and other lighting. But these are mine at running RPM's and then with the big drivers on. This is with a HO stator and the Shindengen R/R. So yeah, it's charging good.
  2. I've been getting some questions on how Ashley has been doing so I guess I need to post some info on that. She is doing better. She still has some discomfort but not like the pain she had before. Looks like the meds are helping. She's had two visits with the specialists and they belive we can sit back and relax a bit as the first "worst case" senarios they discussed with us are not the problem. So that is a relief for both of us. More visits and tests coming and now waiting for the last set of lab results from the last go round. They know what was causing the pain at the time but not why it was happening in the first place. They want to answer that question and deal with that ASAP. She's been scanned, poked and prodded so much she feels like a VooDoo doll. But I want to say again, thank each and every one of you for your words and actions of encouragement, well wishes, prayers and support though this. What has happened here, though all of you, has helped stablize my situtation and taken the pressure off so I can deal with all this in a better state of mind than I was a couple weeks ago. That means so much for us right now. So from Ashley and myself, again, thank you all for everything. Mike & Ashley
  3. Yep, even with the oil at the proper level in the sight glass under a hard acceleration the oil is forced to the rear of the sump and you will get a display warning for a short period of time. Pretty much normal behavior under those condtions.
  4. I'll look into that. something has to work better. Thanks Hey Paul, Glad to made the next round. Congrats!!! Yeah I'm been on fleaBay for years but this is the first time I've tried to list anything a seller. Now I know why. Daughters doing better. Still got more doc visits to do soon. I'' be posting an update on that back on Dons thread when I get a lil time. Sleeping on the floor? And you were worried about your butt on the seat! Thanks and good luck! Mike
  5. Yeah, I tried that. I had saved the one that worked as a template and the others still come up with the same issue. Being on dialup I even sit and let it simmer for a while to see if anything happens. Nada. Very weird. Had the same problem a while back when I tried to do my first listing with the same thing happening.
  6. I've been trying to set up several listings on eBay for a few items and am running into a problem. I start the listing and all goes well until I get to the item description. When I get there it will not let me enter any information. I've tried about everything and find no information about why it won't let me. I finished the listings and saved them with all tbe needed info and they showed fine on the review. Except the lack of the description. I tinkered around for a bit with one and suddenly the decription box popped back up in the BASIC mode and I was able to enter the item description. I have no idea what I did to get that to work. But I got the one item listed and would like to finish the others. Need the magic words I guess. Mike
  7. As said, all sounds normal with everything works as it should on a 1st gen. There is one more thing you can take a look at that "might" help a bit if it needs cleaned up. Pull the radiator cover and take a look at the radiator itself. Mine was cleaned and tested a couple years ago but when I had the cover off there was a LOT of dead bugs, road debris and some minor damage to the fins on the cooling core. A lot of blockage. I ended up loosening the radiator and using a water hose to softed up the dead bugs and then used a compressor to blow them out from the backside. Then combed the fins out to straight again I did get some improvement on the cooling. Just one of those things that need to be looked at once in a while.
  8. Sorry you didn't get your answer. This thread sort of died out when he traded the bike off before doing the repairs. Just to get faster replies it's best to start a new thread with your questions. Only a couple of reasons folks don't reply here. They didn't see the post or they don't have the answer. This thread sort of faded out about the time you posted. And thanks for the info. Hope you stick around as a member. You can see there is a lot of good info here. Mike
  9. .031 to .035 gap by the book specs
  10. Had to check Paul. You know how rare it is for a guy on a 1st gen to have a problem with a carb. :rotf: Ride safe.
  11. Anybody hear from Paul yet.
  12. Ok, somebody had asked about the stator cooling kit a while back. Found this in my files.
  13. Dang, missed the boat. But good luck and ride safe paul. Mike
  14. I'll get it!!!!
  15. Holy smoke Gary, You're moving right along with this. Looking good!!!
  16. Kind of what I expected but this was the first I found. ABB-26HCD-12-00 http://www.boats.net/parts/detail/yamaha/Y-ABB-26HCD-12-00.html
  17. I don't know if you will find anything NOS or a direct replacement any more. If you want to look into a similiar replacement light in the rectangluar shape you might check out Wally World. They had a series called Road Burners that do decent job of lighting without breaking the bank. If you have the curved heavy driving light brackets on the bike you can even go with heavier lights with no problem.
  18. I think you'll be able to make this trip without the snow experience like last time. I hope, but it is the Midwest you never know. Have a good trip. Going through Missouri you might run across a still for refills .
  19. You got to admire the guy for his taste in bikes. yeah I know, but it still cracks me up.
  20. I'd like to see more info on that myself. I also carry a decock and as stated not having one in the pipe, defeats the purpose in my book also. I've heard arguements both ways and understand that a LEO may see the intent issue, but it would be handy to know the final say on it.
  21. I belive the one I used on mine was the FH0012a I have the upgrade stator to and the change was outstanding. I installed mine on the inner fairing. I don't think it would fit in the OEM position anyway due to size. Don't forget to get the plug kit for it. They were a bit of a trick to find. Here is a thread on the R/R's to: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=68374&highlight=indian gotta watch the numbers. A similiar number is quite different.
  22. There used to be some information on this site about the connection for the kits for a simple install but they have changed to site around quite a bit and I can't find the diagrams now http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/store/index.cgi?action=DispPage&Page2Disp=%2Fpt%2Floadresistor.html But it looks like Jeff is building them directly into a new circuit board and like you at that point...........huh? Waiting to see what he comes up with myself. I've replaced about every light with LEDs except for the brake and turn signals. Gunna hafta get done someday.
  23. Yep the reason I got was pretty simple. Because of the alignement of the brushes with the contacts on the armature........ IT WON"T TURN. There isn't much to concider with that information.
  24. I checked into that quite a while back when I fried my 2 brush. If I remember right the answer was no because the armature / communtator (?) is different. I belive it's because of the windings.
  25. I know who you are now! We've spent quite a bit of time and enjoyed a lot of meals together in the past. You're the weight I lost a few years back. Since you left I found out suspension parts actually move up AND down. For many years horses and motorcycles knew how to do the same trick when I threw a leg over them. "SIT" But all kidding aside it is nice to feel the suspension working right rather than swallowing your gum or removing a bike seat from a high speed wedgy after hitting a pothole.
