  1. Take a look at this sight. Not the same but might be some useful info for you on it. http://home.ptd.net/~theragos/index.htm
  2. Here are the different specs on '83 and '84 TCI's These specs are from the original spec sheets I found. 26H is from an 83. 5*@1000 rpm and 32*@7000 rpm. 41R is from an 84. 5*@1000 rpm and 32*@4500 rpm.
  3. The '83 TCI is all alone. I ended up with one by accident and tried it. My '84 started and idled fine but I believe it's the advance curve specs that are different. I had the specs on an old post somewhere. If I can find them I'll post them. As a replacement on an '84....won't work for the long run.
  4. Well the master should feel at home at least. Another blonde! I was just looking at your album and wanted to ask what kind of windshield you have. I like the width on it.
  5. It's been a lot of years since I've been bow hunting. I had a short brush setup called a Warthog. Nasty little thing but dead accurate. Took a few deer and something the cajun crazies I hung out with called a "pig". Didn't look like a pig to me. Looked like a demon from hades just before it went down. Tasted like it to.
  6. Hey Red.. Just curious.....where did you run across those chrome clutch and brake master covers? Never seen them before. Might have to get into a shooting match on those. Me wanty. Mike
  7. Hi Reiny! Well I fired off my e-mail to Martin to get it rolling and we shall we how it goes. I gotta say thanks for setting this one up for sure. Nice job. Letting them handle the orders and ship is a good move. Can't blame ya on that one. LOL! So off we go....... Mike
  8. Now this sounds interesting. My only question is the amp draw on the Hellas. Keep us informed as it comes along. Mike
  9. Sounds like a plan! So we will be buying direct from them as single orders and not as group collective correct? I'd say $60.00 is fair enough for a set of four. I like.
  10. Got my key the other day. Simple to activate and if nothing else...keeps my daughter from shopping on-line! It's saving me bucks already!
  11. I leave for work at 4:30 am. More than once I've taken off after 1 or 2 in the morning and hit the highway for a couple of hours before hitting the clock. I'm wide awake and grinning when I show up for work. My boss thinks I'm out of my mind. But then again he puts about 500 miles a year on his HD so I don't cut him much slack. That's a weekend ride for me. He lives 30 miles from the store and that's too far to ride the bike. Why he owns a bike I have no idea.
  12. I was looking at the idea of going with black cherry and black but the style of the bike begs for something more ........intense. Maybe candy apple red with black metal flake highlights.
  13. I have had real good luck with jbike. I've bought three items from them in the last few months and all arrived clean and checked out in very good condition. Better than I had expected even. I'm surprised you got a nasty looking item from them. They do seem to be standup folks there and I'll keep buying from them.
  14. Thanks for the offer Don. I'll keep that in mind. The backrest and arm rest projects have been on the back burner for a while and my daughter is bugging me about it for this summer. Stator upgrade and valve cover gaskets under the knife as we speak. Run first......comfort later.
  15. Excellent reading. Thanks for the heads up.
  16. Hey Jim. Good luck with the install. There was another set the other day on a Buy It Now for $150.00. Went out and looked at my bike and went back in to buy them and they were gone already. Geesh! And now a guy in Ohio has a set for $150.00 but refuses to ship them. Pick up only. On eBay! LOL! If ya get a chance post up a couple of close up pics on the mount pivots. Mike
  17. I can set him up with enough current bike and car mags to pass around. Any idea of how long it will take a package to get to him?
  18. If at all possible......avoid having a woman help you pack the bike. Don't get me wrong, women can pack like no bodies business, but most of them just don't quit until they have EVERYTHING that THEY want to take along. And I mean everything! Dead Man Riding when the girls get ahold of me. Mike
  19. All I can say is this. I ride a 1st gen and am getting ready to upgrading the stator on my '84. I won't get the performance that the 2nd gens get but an increase of about 30%. Good enough for me. But I will say I have been dealing with Buckeye, Rick H., for the last couple of years on parts and he is a standup guy across the board. He is a wealth of info, solid advice and knows about everything that a guy can know about the VR's and RSV's. Given a choice of other options from different providers I'd have to go with Buckeye without question. Mike
  20. Yikes!!! I picked up a set of the Hella 1500 Driving Lights off eBay and got them the other day. Had to go to $26.00 but still not a bad price at all. The lights are a huge step up from the Burners I had on the bike. A much narrower beam of light and man, I can see clearly now! LOL! Going to pull them open and see if I can change the bulbs out to a 35 watt just to hold the drain down a bit. Don't think dropping to a 35 watt is going to be a big loss on these. Thanks for the heads up on the lights George. A good product for the bucks!
  21. Every now and then there is some justice. Here in Omaha a while back a rider was struck and killed by a cager that screwed up. I read a couple of days ago that the cager was sentenced and the court ordered him to pay $150,000 to the family of the biker. You don't see that kind of response very often from the courts. The cager was uninsured so it's his pocket that will take the hit. What are the odds of the family ever seeing a dime of that..........slim to none, but at least the court did what was right.
  22. That sucks Reiny. Hope you get it cleaned up quick. And just to be on the safe side I ordered the security key from PayPal. Hope it works like they claim.
  23. Sounds good. Be watching this one.
  24. Are we hearing anything on the progress on this?
