Just was talking with Rick the other day. Sounds like he's up to arm pits with business and they are setting up to start production of another run of 1st gen upgrade stators. He ran out. Again. I gotta to get out to his place one of these days and meet the man. Seems like a great guy and certainly top notch to do business with for sure.

Not a problem Max. Us blondes gotta stick together.

Scooter beat me to it. But I got to say Rick over at Buckeye is great to works with. Been buying from him and getting some excellent advice for a couple of years. He knows these bikes inside out and backwards. If you order from Rick you will get the right parts the first time. If he suggests that you will need something else when you place an order.....it's not an upsell. You're going to need it. His Braided SS lines are excellent and the upgrade stator is probably the best around for quality. Not to mention the discount.

Yeppers. I suppose it wouldn't be much good for deer hunting. Take too many baggies to pack up the pieces of meat. 10,180lbs? Damn!

And for a second shot.....er......round......er......clip.

If this rifle don't meet your shooting needs you had better hide like a bunny from whatever you are hunting. You suppose they make this in a semi-auto?

Err.....6pak......are you letting the Mac's go already?

TCI designations
Snaggletooth replied to Snaggletooth's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Thanks Squeeze. I'm looking at a couple of 41R-11's and a 41R-10 right now so I might have a chance to pick one up. As long as any 41R will work I got a chance. Thanks again. Mike -

TCI designations

Hey Dave. Yeppers that's one of several I've been watching. Always a few floating around the bay but so many different part #'s. I'm starting to think that Yammy just used abbreviated numbers like changing 41R-82305-11-00 to just 41R-11. Waiting for the higher powers that be (HEY SQUEEZE) to tell me if I'm right on that or not. But thanks for the input. An extra eye always helps. Mike -
I think I'm on the right track here but want to the check. Looks like I might be in the market for a TCI for my '84. From the info I am looking at I know that the 26 series will only work on an '83. Figures. I just happen to have a good working 26H in my parts storage. The bike starts and idles very well with that one plugged in but the advance settings are different. The 41 series will work in all 1200 and 1300 models 1984 thru 1987 from my cross reference info. As for the 41R-82305-11-00, or 10-00, or 09-00 and such that is just the minor changes from year to year from the makers right? I'm seeing TCI's with labels that only show 41R-10 or 41R-11. What is the info on that desigination? Just trying to be sure of what I'm buying. Anybody want to do some horse trading for a 26H? Mike

I'd be willing to give that a shot. I've been buffing old sights down with very fine wet & dry paper then give them a coat of super glue and let it dry. An improvement..... but not like new. -

That little puppy is one of the things I put on my schedule to do whenever I change my rear tire along with greasing the driveshaft splines. It's a LOT easier to do with the rear wheel off the bike. Reach up inside the swing arm and remove the screw for the bracket and it falls open. Pull the filter down a bit, replace it and remount the bracket. Takes about 10 minutes at the most. For the $5.00 it costs I'm willing to change it more often rather than when I have to.

Most excellent change! Very nice. A hot blonde with highlites!

Hey Alan and Kim. Welcome to the site. I'm out of Omaha riding a blonde '84 VR. I get up through Fremont every now and then. I stop in at Johnson Cycle and flirt with a little "08 black cherry they had there. She's a cutie. We got another guy here in Omaha on a Black on Blue RSV and a new fella and his wife just joined us from Council Bluffs. Sounds like the Midwest might be having our own ride-in this summer. Not a lot of folks close to us. My bike will be down for at a few more weeks until the rest of my parts arrive so when that comes together I'll give ya a heads up and maybe we can meet up before long. Oh damn! Just looked at your profile. Another '84! What ya riding? Blonde or Blue? Mike

My 16 yr old daughter was riding with me on my 1st gen last year. We did a long weekend run and she was prone to dozing off on the long stretches. Again the helmet knocking against mine was a dead give away. About the third time I told her to give me her iPod. She wears the ear plugs under her helmet all the time but this time I had the iPod in MY pocket. Every time she would doze off I'd crank the iPod to the max and she'd snap right back up and yell "What was that?" I was more worried about her jumping off the bike than falling off. LOL! My next step was going to be Duck Tape

By my book, if you still have the stock springs in there you might as well fill the forks with a Cherry Slushie. After changing mine to Progressives that wobble was gone. Keep in mind that I had mounted new Avons at the same time and even added a better fork brace later on but the springs they come with are junk. Mine is rock steady now. -

Avon tires and the cold weather.
Snaggletooth replied to sarges46's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
I've had my Avons on for two years now through winters here in the midwest. Temps below zero for extended amounts of time in an unheated garage and a concrete floor. However I do block the bike up to get the tires off the floor for the extended storage for the winter months. I push my tires pretty hard and I can barely say I have any chicken strips left and I'm seeing no sign of side wall cracks at all. I've got about 10,000 on this set so far and they are looking like they will do well for another season at least. -
What? Wait a minute! Did you say Council Bluffs? Like the one in Iowa? Next to the river? Hot DAMN! I'm finally gonna get to have another member within yelling distance. Now this is a special moment! Two years on this site and it's a days ride or two at least to meet any of these folks. Oh wait.......I'll find Craig. He's around here somewhere. CRAIG!.......THERE'S A GUY HERE FROM C.B.! Welcome aboard Owen. Glad to have ya! And howdy to the misses to! Now I got a reason to finish putting my bike back together. Keep an eye open for a blonde 1st gen running around I-80 and the South Expressway in the next few weeks. You found a great bunch of folks here for sure. Mike
