Probably going to need a 5 to 4 convertor like we do on the trailers. But I'm the last Guy to give electrical advice. I earned the nickname "Sparky". NEVER MIND. REREAD YOUR POST. DUH. From my Droid wherever I may happen to be at any given moment.

Are you real sure it was a "lady"? Been a lot of "gals" looking like that downtown lately that seem to have kickstands as standard issue.. Now go bleach your mind. Strange world these days.. LOL. From my Droid wherever I may happen to be at any given moment.

in need of some info

There ya go. There are wire loops or retainers on the framework where you route the hoses through to keep them in place so they end up under the bike just in front of the rear tire. If installed carefully and in order you can see the ends easliy and tell right away which carb is bleeding out. Saved me a lot of time back in the early days when i was fighting bad floats. You certainatly want them to end up well under the motor and pipes. From my Droid wherever I may happen to be at any given moment. -

Glad ya got it worked out. I just had mine fail this spring. Took me two days to get it out. Stripped bolts. You got off easy. Probably run into you around town. Ride safe. From my Droid wherever I may happen to be at any given moment. -
Boy that was a few years back now. After finding damage went back and checked security cameras. They showed two males walking past bike. One continued on and the other stopped and walked around bike several times like he was looking it over. Then he stooped down by the front and then walked to the other side and did the same thing then walked out of Camera range. Was not able to make out either party due to poor quality. When i left work i had found small puddles of brake fluid on pavement. As i was pulling out of lot i could feel the brakes fading and see i was losing fluid. Made it three miles home and inspected front lines. Found both sides to be partly cut across tops. Speeded up my plans for SS lines. To this day i have no idea who the nads were that did it. Only some suspicions. Random morons in a public parking lot. But for sure not coworkers. From my Droid wherever I may happen to be at any given moment.

OK. I don't have access to my pics right now but you will need to release everything held in place by the clamp at the bottom left side of the front edge of the case at the outside where the slave goes into the recess between the stator housing and the middle gear housing. Spread the clamp and bend it out of the way. Gently. You will need it again. Once that clamp is out of the way you will have a lot more room to work. I held the slave at the bleeder end and rotated it side to side to slide it back in. Almost fell into place. Be sure you have a clean surface on the case and body of the slave. Any debris can cause the flanges to be out of line and cause them to break. Do not overtighten! A dab of blue loctite will be all you need. Yep. Youre looking at it the right way. Removing subframe at mounting points and leaving everything attached to it is the easy way. One Guy can remove it but an extra set of hands make it easier to line back up going back on. From my Droid wherever I may happen to be at any given moment. -
The only time i saw any benifit to siping was back when i was doing OTR heavy hauls on spread axle trailers. On the spread axle trailers one axle would be dragged sideways in turns. The siping allowed the tread to "walk" a bit instead of being slid across the surface. When we changed to air ride axles with capabilities to lift the forward axle during turns we stopped siping. Can't say it increased the tire.mileage life other than not tearing the tread off in tight turns. On a car can't i can't see the need or it. Can't remember last time mine sat for a week. Maybe last winter. And that was before i installed the new disphargms. Only thing I've ever done go improve on cold fire up was cycle the switcth 3 or 4 times to refill the fuel bowls. No cranking the throttle. Quick flip on the choke to full right back to half choke. Hit the button and she's running. Maybe IM just lucky. From my Droid wherever I may happen to be at any given moment.

Did my trunk a couple years ago with trunk liner from WW. Still holding up well. One of the best improvements I've done for traveling. Keeps everything where it needs to be. Wired mine for lights and power ports to for charging cell and camera also. Worth the effort. From my Droid wherever I may happen to be at any given moment.

1st Gens are '83 - '93. The 83 - 85 is the MKI and the 86- 93 is MKII. After that when they changed to the cruiser style is the. 2nd Gen. The shifter being backwards is a common error during reassembly. The ammembly has been put back on the shifter shaft 180 degrees off. Remove, rotate and you should be good to go. The buzzing trying to start my well be the starter solenoid not getting enough current. Check connections and battery charge and.go from there. Replacing those tube fuses with an upgrade to a blade style box will help solve a lot of problems to. From my Droid wherever I may happen to be at any given moment.

Agreed on the starter engage clutch. Sounds like everything is coming apart when it starts to fail. You have to understand that entire assembly depends on three roller bearings held on place by ball point pen springs and they bind against the boss on the 72 tooth ring gbody ear when you crank the motor.. when they bounce they make all kinds of evil noise. More than likely you will eventually find the engage body cracked or broken.. i had two fail. I was one of the first ones to install Dano's modified engage. Not one regret since. Its well worth the few Extra bucks cost over the OEM engage and fixed the problem forever. Run a search on Dano's engage clutch mod and check it out. He machines the OEM rotor, added his engage clutch and a new different 72 tooth ring gear and gaskets. From my Droid wherever I may happen to be at any given moment.

If you pull off your side covers you can see there the rear mounting points are for the bracket that the rear screw goes in. You can loosen the mounting bolts and rotate that bracket forward or backwards. Move it backwards as much as you can go pull the tab on the false cover onto the front bracket. Won't come loose again. Been using the same two Coleman air mattresses for years. Only had one small leak in mine and that was my own fault. Quick patch and its still doing service today. Only had one fail me. It was 8 years old and i flopped down on it. The entire top seam blew out. Quick drop to ground level. Then i got the Coleman's. From my Droid wherever I may happen to be at any given moment.

carb diaphram repairs
Snaggletooth replied to Sexagenarian's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Just to make a light repair to pinholes you can use spray Plastic Dip from the outside only to seal them. IM off lone from my PC but i have a thread in poor mans fixes i think.. several have used it with good results. . Don't cause the diaphragm to stiffen up. I got almost 20k miles out of my repair. Search for it. It works. From my Droid wherever I may happen to be at any given moment. -
