i was trying to do a iron but from Ca. to FL. on a jucker hd chopper , it had a peanut tank , 7/10 gal. so i got 2 canteens full of gas and tried to fill the tank at 70 mph nope did not work . anyway i was comming off the interstate on the ramp at 2:00am 2 miles from home and there was a trooper at the lite , i pulled up next to him trying to keep the shortys quite and forgot to put my foot down , when he found out i was not drunk just tierd , he had a good laugh and helped me get it up still laughing .

when i 1st got my 1stg i was going to delink the brake , i thought it was stupid having the 2 brakes together but i found this site and was talked out of it but i did take the guts out of the p valve so i would have more back brake , it worked , now here is the buuut , i usually only use my front brake in normal riding yes i am lazy , i use my foot brake when pulling a trailer or have to , in the old days we did it backwards , rear bake all the time ,front only in a emer. when i used to build choppers i never put on a front brake untill fl. made it a law and than i used honda 90 front wheels and only ajusted the cable for state inspections , anyway back to pulling the guts out of the p valve , at vogel this year , found out i had less brake than the other 1gs ,plus i ate my rear pads[ ebc hh ] and blue the seals on the rear caliber but it was 21 years old . i am back to factory and i like it ! it feels like a 60 / 40 split and yes i have slid both tires , blue hair and i was pulling a 700 lb trailer doing 50 mph but i got stopped , i would not delink a 1stg , on a lite bike yes but a 1stg are heavy and lov the front brake . my 2 c.

somebody here makes a bracket that gos on your jack , after you jack the bike up , put on the 4 legs and remove the jack , kewl huh , but he is bias , he don't like 1Gs because he won't make us one :rotfl::rotfl:

your rite , sometimes i can turn a deer with my horns, i have hit a gator , the 4 legged kind , a buzzard and a hawk , the hawk almost broke my shoulder . almost hit a bear , had to use my seat cover remover :rotfl:i almost forgot a 7 in. everglades grasshopper rite in the chest doing over a 120 mph still have a scare , -

can a 1st gen master cylinder be made to fit it has a p valve already and enough volume . what do they say about reinventing the wheel it was done 20 years ago :rotfl:

yesterday on the way home i made a long right turn and almost dumped it, it was like i was carrying 200 lbs. in my right bag . got home i had oil all over the right side of the wheel . the lock spring that holds the seal in place came out , i do not know why ? i did not hit a curb or a hole . i rebuilt the forks last march , 8000 miles ago , i have put the spring back in and drain out the rest of the oil . tomorrow i have to buy some fork oil , i am going to change the oil in both sides to 15 wt. . with the new bars and rizers i do not have to pull them to remove the caps .

jack , you would be surprised how many times that has been proposed in different states , we have a group here that has tried to make m/c.s illegal in a lot of the states and want the helmet law back so there will be less m/c riders and than it would be easier to outlaw m/c - quote [ on the Fl.state house floor ] the State of Fl. needs have a strict helmet law , have a high tax on m/cs so m/c will stop coming to Fl. , Fl. do not need or want m/cs on the roads and highways , end quote . i am very thankful that there are less and less of those people but i still read about making m/c illegal , the next time i see one those i'll try to copy it and post it , last year i saw some people holding signs trying to outlaw m/cs during bike week

to everybody that says it cost you money because somebody doe's not wear a helmet , i would like to say prove it , not by going to the tv set or the newspaper but by auditing the hospitals and EMS service . i know that it would cost a lot of time and money and most of us don't have it . but many audits where done , when a rider not wearing a helmet has a accident and was legal [ dwi , not have a m/c license , 21 or over and insurance ] doe's not cost you the tax payer and no it doe's not raise the your cost of insurance , we pay insurance too and if the you think you are sharing the cost again wrong , insurance companys can charge me anything they want and they are making a profit , here in Fl. the insurance co.s backed the no helmet law when extra insurance was required by giving money to the no helmet lobbyist ?? do you think a few m/c riders can come up with all that money to change the law in fl. , ya rite . now on a sad note , in places where m/c are in a large amount , check the out the hospitals and EMS , some of the best there are , and no ,not because the taxpayers have have to pay more , it is because we are more profitable , sick but true ,taxpayer money doe's pay for the upgrade but at the end of the year they make a profit . think about the real reason why the self rightest force us to do what they think is right , they will come up with facts thats are not true but sound good , i can do the same , and try to force you to not to wear a helmet , there is some good reason not to . but why ?? WHO GAVE ME THE RIGHT to force you to do anything that doe's not effect me , just because you are doing something i don't like WHO GAVE ME THE RIGHT ?? i am a old m/c rider , i started riding before helmet laws , i have never not had a bike for more than 2 years since i started riding and had a lot of accidents , i know how good a helmet is , i have used one many times , i made my sons wear a helmet until they moved out of my house , i am pro helmet and leather rider , i would die before i would tell somebody to take off there helmet and never berate some one who did not . i really like this site and think it fun , i like it because a lot of the members are oldfarts like me . i think it is fun about the little war between 1gs and 2gs or us and other makes of m/c . but Don has rules about politics and other things , it great to say a helmet or leathers saved you but lets not be self rightest about it and please don't berate or force anybody to do something you think is right , i may be stupid but i am over 21 and i would ask you for the respect and no matter who you are i allways will GIVE YOU MINE . i am sorry to all of you that have read this but i thank you too . thom

how many people drown at the beach because they were not wearing a life jacket ? i know of 4 in the last 2 weeks . so we need to make it a law - when you are at the beach or near open water you have to wear a life jacket and if there is not a law because the people voted it out , everybody that wears life jackets can talk about them , call them names , harass them and try to make it a law , lets keep ongoing , flying - everybody that flys anything has to where a parachute , surfing - helmet , life vest , wet suit , hunting - helmet , body armer , steel toe boots , climbing stairs - helmet , eating , smoking - i had a rider b##th me out while he and his wife were liting a cig. about me not wearing a helmet . i saved my life 2 times today , not because i wore my helmet , but because i did not drink a couple of beers when i stopped to eat for lunch and dinner . but most of the riders that were at the places i stopped to eat at were drinking beer but it was ok because they were wearing helmets . i think it should be agents the law to drive a bike or car to any place that serves alcohol . i have been to all 50 states and 117 different countrys and every one had different laws , and i did not get up on a soapbox and tell everybody that they were stupid and unsafe . me or anybody else not wearing a helmet or not , not wearing long pants or leathers or boots as nothing to do with anybody else at all . i cannot hurt anybody by not wearing a helmet but me . in fl. i have to pay a extra 10.00 for my tags , it gos to the EMS because some say it cost more to have a wreck on a m/c and that fee was made before we got rid the helmet law . in fl. to not to wear a helmet i have to carry extra med. insurance [ 327.00 a year ] and i have to be 21 or over . by the way the next time your down here and you see somebody riding with out a helmet and wearing shorts , they might be a cop , fireman or EMS paramedic you would be surprised , the biggest thing i got to say is please stop calling us names and berating us and i will not do the same when i think you are doing something unsafe , swimming without a life jacket , riding in the rain or snow , hunting , flying , 4 wheeling , or having a beer with lunch . thank you , life is a Venture Thom Bagby

on the 1st gen , are the mikes allways on , how do i use the ptt buttems , do they only work for the cb ?
