Kids, if you love 'em, hug 'em, and spend time with'em, you don't have to see the judge with 'em. Just my $0.02 I have been very fortunate.

Lonestarmedic, Eaghleeye has one for sale in Saukcity, WI. If you call me I will give you his phone number. I have been to his house and have seen the bike, but I was not looking with a critical eye. He is a straight shooter. Ph 608-215-5739 Orrin

Flanders makes several different types of handel bars. They are great quality and work well on my RSTD. You may have to change cables and lines though to get what you want, but it will be worth it. do a search for Flanders and you should come up with more than enough information

:detective:I am following up on the thread I started a week ago and here are the results I promised to report. 13 rear brake lock ups were reported, 12 of those were due to emergency stops, and 4 of those 12 reulted in an accident and the bike going down. That is a 33% probability of crashing when using the rear brake in an emergency. That to me is pretty alarming. Almost all of the riders that locked up their rear brake felt that it was way too easy to lock up. One person brought up the point that the harder you stop, your right foot will press more on the rear brake due to the G forces generated in severe braking and weight transfer that takes place from rear to front. You have two forces working against you. 1. you moving forward on the bike, pressing on the rear pedal more and 2. weight coming off of the rear wheel. My opinion is that it is a freaking miracle more of us don't crash when making an emergency stop, even when using the front and rear brakes properly. I suspect that this problem is not unique to just the Royal Star series of bikes. I suspect that with HD making ABS avaiable as an option more manufacturers will be under more pressure to improve the brakes on our motorcycles. I certainly hope this will be the case.

Kit, thanks for the kind words. When you politely be persistant, and keep track of who, when, and what...good things happen. Too many times we get excited and over react, then people become resistant. You did well! I am patiently waiting to hear the results of your trip to the "doctor".

Well I started it. So here is where I live. Just tried to load some pic's but I guess I don't know how. Anyhow, Merrimac Ferry is 1 mile away, Devil's Lake State Park,(WI) is 5 minutes away. My house is on the shores of Lake Wisconsin. Great riding roads with lots of twisties. Wisconsin Dells only 25 minutes.

I am getting ready to repair my 2005 RSTD, Black and dark Raspberry. Need your input on new mirrors, Clearview windshield (should I get the vent? Some say they are hard to clean) upper and lower saddlebag trim, and left side lower cowling. I have most everything else lined up. I don't like stock mirrors and kind of like the Yamaha tear drop with the billet standards with holes. I have heard good and bad about them. Also anyone have any of this stuff for sale? Any help much appreciated. I will be selling off some damaged and duplicate parts cheap after I am done. Thanks in advance.
